Today we’d like to introduce you to Robin.
Hi Robin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey as a teacher before becoming a proud mama, always passionate about helping others learn and grow. Everything shifted when my own kids started experiencing health issues—things that traditional doctors couldn’t quite explain or solve. That’s when I went down the rabbit hole of researching food, ingredients, toxins and the impact of what we put in—and on—our bodies.
One major turning point was discovering the harmful effects of artificial food dyes, especially Red Dye 40. It opened my eyes to how many processed foods including school lunches are filled with things that don’t serve our health—especially our children’s. That experience lit a fire in me to become an advocate for real food and ingredient awareness, not just for my family but for others, too.
I had the desire to help other moms reclaim their health and their homes. When my girls were teens and with the support of my husband, I became a holistic health coach and started my company called Live Life Balanced with Robin. I now work with mamas who are ready to prioritize the wellness of their home and live with more vitality and intention.
I host the Healthy Habits for a Healthier Home podcast where I share the “1% Shift Method”—small, doable changes that lead to big transformation over time. It’s all about creating a life that nourishes your body, mind, and spirit.
This work is deeply personal, faith-fueled, and purpose-driven—and it’s been such a honor to watch it ripple out into other families’ lives.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Oh goodness, not smooth at all—and honestly, I think the dips are what built the purpose behind this work.
As a mom, it’s heartbreaking to see your child struggling and not be able to find answers. The frustration of going from doctor to doctor, being told everything looks “normal, or she is just a hard baby. While deep down you know something’s off—it’s exhausting. That’s what pushed me to dig deeper, to learn about things like food dyes, gut health, and the role of toxic ingredients in our everyday lives.
Starting a business came with its own set of challenges—juggling time, energy, and all the mom-guilt that sneaks in when you’re trying to pour into yourself, too. And like so many women, I had to heal my own perfectionism, old narratives, and burnout cycles before I could truly show up for others in an aligned way.
Learning how to advocate for change in our homes, school system and government hasn’t been easy either. There’s resistance, red tape, and a lot of educating to do. But those challenges have only made me stronger, more clear in my mission, and more compassionate toward other mamas trying to do the best they can with the knowledge they have.
The road hasn’t been smooth—but it’s been worth it. And I wouldn’t trade the lessons for anything.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At the heart of my work, I help women come back home to themselves—body, mind, and spirit—so they can show up as the best version of themselves for their kids, their families, and their own well-being. Most know me as the “Ingredient Detective”. People call, text and email asking if things are healthy. My answer is always, “What are the ingredients?” This simple tool is what allows us to make the best choices.
I’m a holistic health coach who teaches women how to create real, sustainable health through whole foods, joyful movement, emotional healing, and spiritual connection. I specialize in making wellness feel doable—1% Shifts—taking the confusion out of things like reading labels, reducing toxins, and ditching processed sugar, all while building a healthier home and life from the inside out.
I’m also the host of the Healthy Habits for a Healthier Home podcast, where I share my 1% Shift Method—a gentle, empowering approach to wellness that’s all about small, consistent steps that lead to big, lasting change. I’m known for meeting women exactly where they are, holding space for their journey, and doing things a little differently than the traditional “health hustle.”
What sets me apart and What I’m most proud of?
Watching women reclaim their health, confidence, and joy—especially after years of putting themselves last. And being a voice for change when it comes to the food our kids are being served. That’s legacy work. And I feel so honored to be part of it.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about our city is the beautiful community of women who genuinely want to lift each other up. There’s such a spirit of support, collaboration, and heart-centered connection—it’s been such a gift to be part of that. Whether it’s in wellness circles, local events, or just everyday encounters, there’s this shared desire to grow, heal, and help each other thrive.
What I like least? Honestly, it’s the lack of healthy food options when eating out. It can be tough to find places that truly prioritize whole, nourishing ingredients without all the processed extras. I’d love to see more restaurants offer clean, intentional meals that support well-being—especially for families trying to make better choices.
