Check Out Sarah Flores’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Flores

Hi Sarah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Yoga has helped me through various ailments throughout the past two decades. I went to my first class hoping to alleviate back pain. I relied on yoga to help me recover from an ankle injury. It’s helped me relieve anxiety. It’s been crucial in keeping me mentally and physically strong. Sometimes I can’t put my finger on it, but I just feel so good after a yoga class. I wanted to create a space where everyone is welcome and warmly embraced. Not just any space though, one that was visually appealing, simple, clean, and smelled good. We are a luxury yoga studio with a spa-like feeling. We wanted to provide the best guest experience and service to all of our guests. That’s how Winter Park Yoga was created. We are cultivating a community that will benefit anyone who walks through the door.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We’ve had so many challenges and obstacles along the way. But I always try to remind myself that it’s not supposed to be smooth. It’s through adversity that we find out we are capable of much more than we give ourselves credit for. When it’s not smooth sailing, we end up so much more grateful in the end for any achievements. I’ve had people tell us that the studio has changed their lives. It’s those results that really push me through the tough times.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We have the strongest and most passionate group of instructors. They are all different and have different styles and backgrounds, so there is someone here for everyone. After every class, we offer a cool scented towel so that all of our guests get the full sensory experience with aromatherapy. Every week is a different scent. We have infrared heat which has so many health benefits including faster recovery, detoxification, inflammation reduction, better sleep, improved mood, weight loss, improved skin. We offer Kid’s yoga and prenatal classes as well.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I’ve actually never been much of a risk taker. I think the fear of failure can really keep us from reaching our fullest potential. Women are more likely to experience imposter syndrome than men. When fear or negative thoughts about the studio started to creep in, I would say shhhhh, that’s not true. What is really the worst thing that could happen? The business fails. But how will I know if I don’t try and don’t give it my all?
