Today we’d like to introduce you to Sky Torres Pagan
Hi Sky, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started after getting my first tattoo. I was 17 years old, 2 days away from my 18th birthday. I got a rose and the Taurus constellation on my left forearm. At that time I thought I wanted to be a Licensed Veterinarian Technician. But watching the artist make my dreams into reality was so magical and it made me fall in love with tattooing so much that soon after I decided to buy my own machine and give myself, friends and family tattoos. It was a start to something I never could’ve dreamed would’ve happened the start of my tattoo career and journey! After tattooing with no experience at my home for about 2 years I moved to Florida and found a tattoo school. Which to say the least is was what helped me get into this field as a licensed professional and I’m so thankful for that experience. After completing tattoo school in 2022 I started at Fine ink Studios on international drive. Since July of 2023 I have moved to Rooted Body Tattoo, located in Downtown Orlando. Which has helped me not only progress in my profession but also in my creativity.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The whole beginning of my career was a challenge. From trying to find an apprenticeship to learning how to execute clean line work. I would say the most challenging thing was finding a mentor, as going to tattoo shops wasn’t my thing at the time and I didn’t really have a portfolio to show. I then moved to Florida where there are a couple “tattoo schools” and found one that accepted me into the program.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a tattoo artist based in Downtown Orlando. I specialize in fine line custom design tattoos. I’m known for making magic and memories. When it comes to my work I would say I’m most proud of my progress and seeing what else I can possibly create with my clients! The art I create for clients are made with the clients values and ideas always in mind. I make it my mission to make sure the art I give you is something you can be proud to have on you! So don’t be scared to add/remove, go bigger or smaller, up or down because I got you 😉
