Check Out Stacy Gannon’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Gannon.

Stacy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a professional traveling Makeup Artist and licensed skincare Esthetician. Since growing up in a large family in Baltimore, I have always been drawn to the glitz and glamour of old Hollywood fashion and makeup. In my preteens, my family moved to Central Florida. This exposed me to performing on stage and in front of the camera. During my acting days, I learned many hands-on makeup techniques, which continued to fuel my passion and love of makeup. My background also includes many years of experience traveling the U.S. and Canada as a corporate sales and leadership trainer. In addition, I worked as a motivational positive workplace speaker. As a traveling Makeup Artist, I have had the privilege to do makeup and styling on films, fashion shows, photo-shoots, and celebrities at conventions: for example Megacon (Orlando and Tampa) and Power Ranger – Rangerstop. I have won various awards for short films and makeup competitions. I am beyond grateful to have been given the opportunity to do makeup for a variety of celebrities, most recently John Stamos at the Orlando Megacon convention this year. One of my most memorable moments was back in August of 2018. I was given the amazing chance to do makeup for the now late great Burt Reynolds in Pigeon Forge Tennessee for the annual Bubba Fest Convention. I will treasure this memory for a lifetime. I have a passion for creativity and challenging projects.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I feel with each challenge or struggle I have been through in my life, it has given me the insight to push harder and those moments have exposed me to life lessons. Losing my father at the age of 15 yrs old pushed me to take chances. My dad was an amazing light in my life, who showed me what hard work meant and to go after what you want. There were times in my life where I felt what I wanted was out of reach. I had self-doubt at times, convinced myself it was a selfish path to choose. I tried to tell myself that my life was supposed to look a certain way, “the white picket fence.” I battled with trying to fit into this manifested role. After years of fertility challenges and other loss, I have found my voice and so thankful I am able to do what I love! I know I am not alone in saying this, self-doubt still tries to knock on my door. For this reason, I am so grateful to have genuine loved ones around me. My amazing friends and family, that champion my cause and believe in me as much as I believe in them.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in professional makeup application, to include film, photoshoots, runways, special effects and weddings. I also have a love for skincare, since that’s where the canvas starts. This passion fueled me to go after my estheticians licensed in skincare. I love breaking the mold on some of societies so called “expectations” of beauty. I enjoy working with clients of all ages, ethnicities, and communities. I am a huge ally for equal rights and have participated in various events and fundraisers for the LGBTQ+ community. Most recently having the amazing opportunity to support the onePulse Foundation doing makeup for the “Straight Men Real Makeup” MCA fundraiser at the beautiful Häos on Church.

What are your plans for the future?
I am excited for what the future has in store for me. There are some exciting opportunities on my horizon and count my blessings for those each day. I am a bit superstitious, I have my late grandmother Geneva to blame for that, and wouldn’t want to jinx mentioning anything that hasn’t happened yet. As for me, I want to continue my passion of makeup and invest in my skills. I love learning from my other talented friends and hope to make a difference where I can.
