Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Oliver.

Stephanie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Like most people, I had to redirect my life due to covid…. but before that I was dancer for many years in the theme parks in Central Florida. After hanging up my dancing shoes ( for the most part ) I started bartending. As I moved from restaurants I started to become part of the events team at various locations. I really enjoyed this aspect of food and beverage. Years later I joined a resort and started working in the events department. This is where I caught the bug! I started to think of a future outside of food and beverage. I really enjoyed the planning and executing of peoples events. Well then covid happened, and like a lot of central Florida people I was laid off. During my 6 months at home I took online courses and got certified in event management and wedding planning. I was really enjoying my time at home with my son who is now 12 and my boyfriend. Family time means the world to me. So while I was laid off I decided I no longer wanted to solely work for companies that will let me go so easily, nor did I want to miss any more family milestones due to a strict schedule. This is where my idea to become an entrepreneur came in. I started my LLC and started to grow my knowledge in this field. My wonderful amazing boyfriend decided he would love to join me in this and became my business partner! Lucky Me! He became my tech guy. He designed our website, keeps up with the changes to our contracts and keeps all of documents accounted for. 2 years later and we are really getting our company out there! We have booked 6 brides from our last wedding show and we have a few event accounts. We love the path we are on, and we especially love watching peoples dreams come true with our help. Our motto is “let your fairy tale dreams become a lighted realm of possibilities ” Dreams really do come true with Fairy Light Events!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Nothing worth having is ever easy or a “smooth road”. We have definitely had our fair share of obstacles and continue to have some. The wedding market is saturated in Central Florida and small companies often get over looked by brides. We have struggled with our customer acquisition. We have started to do some wedding shows to aquire brides but those aren’t cheap either. Most run between 500-1000 dollars for a booth.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are event planners, which means anything from birthday parties, to corporate events and your wedding. We are known for being very personable and very detail oriented. We are most proud of our affordability to out brides. Everyone deserves a special day and shouldn’t have to be a millionaire to be treated like royalty on your special day. That’s also what we believe sets us apart from other event and wedding planners. We aren’t trying to break your pocket or talk you into higher budgets.

Pricing:

  • 400.00 for the first 4 hours of wedding coordinating
  • 1500.00 for our budget and time managment, wedding coordinating
  • 3,000 complete package. We will plan everything!
