Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Serrano Acevedo.
Hi Stephanie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always been interested in performing. However, when I fell in love with acting, it was a feeling I’d never before experienced. To me, it was a grander feeling than even any relationship I’ve ever had. That’s how I knew this is what I wanted to pursue. I got accepted into the Margie Haber Studios ISP program in LA and from there, I met my amazing mentor, Judi Shekoni. She’s pretty much changed my life and my outlook on the business and myself.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There’s never such a thing as a life free of obstacles. Unless you are standing still the rest of your life, and even then, you might get hit by a force outside of your control lol My life in general has never really been a smooth road, however, the things you go through make you who you are today. They mold you and you take from the hard experiences and learn, and hopefully, it adjusts for the better. I still struggle with things, but the key to life isn’t to live without fear or difficulty, it’s learning how to circumvent these and keep moving forward as best you can.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have been known to be in the creative elements. I used to be a makeup artist, I still enjoy doing makeup from time to time. Acting is my first love. I am currently in classes and started seriously auditioning again. I’m most proud of how much I’ve grown and how I love to inspire my friends and others to pursue their dreams. I constantly love to try different things outside my comfort zone. So when I’m pushing others, I also am pushing myself simultaneously.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Perseverance and believing in yourself are the most important qualities anyone can have. Unshakable healthy confidence can really make the difference between success and giving up. I don’t say failure necessarily because failing is great, as long as you’re failing forward, learning from it and constantly taking a step towards something. Cuz let’s face it, if you’re not failing forward, the alternative is, you’re just not even trying. So many people in this world are so talented in different areas but lack in belief of themselves. This is why there’s so many less qualified people out there doing whatever they want to do, simply because they have an unwavering belief in themselves.
