Hi Suzann, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.

I’m thrilled to have been invited back! Let me tell you a bit about myself—I’m Suzann Kaltbaum, and I’m not your average artist; I’m a storyteller armed with a camera. For years, I was a devoted stay-at-home mom. But when my youngest headed off to college, I found myself with newfound freedom and a burning desire to pursue my passion.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Transitioning from being a full-time mom to pursuing a career as a professional artist was a journey filled with uncertainties and risks. One major challenge I faced was self-doubt. I often questioned my abilities and wondered whether I had what it takes to make it in the art world. Overcoming this hurdle required a significant amount of self-belief and perseverance.

On the professional front, establishing myself in such a competitive industry meant navigating through rejection and criticism. It took time and effort to carve out a niche for myself and make my mark in the art world. While also taking financial risks in investing in equipment and marketing efforts.

Despite these challenges, I ultimately chose to take the plunge. I realized that if I didn’t seize the opportunity, I would always wonder what could have been. Looking back, I’m grateful for every hurdle I faced, as each one taught me valuable lessons. The fulfillment and joy I’ve discovered in pursuing my passion make every risk worthwhile.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Step into a world where art meets adventure! I take my love for travel and photography and blend it into something special. Instead of just snapping photos, I turn them into eye-catching digital art pieces. They’re not just pretty pictures; they’re meant to make you think and feel.

I use ChromaLuxe HD Metal to print my art, delivering prints that boast extraordinary vibrancy and luminosity—raising the bar for print quality. The process involves a complex technique called dye sublimation, resulting in brilliant colors that add an extra layer of depth to the artwork. Opting for a metal canvas rather than the conventional choices of canvas or paper provides me with unmatched versatility. The metal surface complements the vivid colors and sharp contrasts found in my artwork, conjuring a magical impact.

The combination of brilliant colors, sharp contrasts, high definition, and a glossy finish results in the creation of the most opulent limited edition prints available.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?

Taking risks is like taking a leap into the unknown. It’s scary, but it’s also how we grow and find fulfillment. Each risk I’ve taken has taught me something valuable. When things don’t go as planned, instead of giving up, I’ve learned to adjust and keep going. Every obstacle has pushed me to explore new paths and become more resilient.

One of the best parts of taking risks is the feeling of freedom it brings. Stepping out of my comfort zone has helped me discover parts of myself I didn’t know existed. It’s empowered me to live a life that feels true to who I am.

Looking back, I see that every risk I’ve taken has led to positive changes in my life. Even though the future is uncertain, I know that embracing risks will bring me closer to my dreams.

Now, as I move into the next phase of my life, I’m excited to see where taking risks will lead me. With each new adventure, I’m ready to learn, grow, and chase after my goals.
