Check Out Sydney Batallas’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Batallas.

Sydney Batallas

Hi Sydney, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My desire to start a social media platform started in about 2019 but I never knew what I would share since I felt like I didn’t really have much to say. I was in college at the time and fitness was my passion but it just didn’t click for me. I kind of gave up on the idea that one day I could build a platform but the spark has recently been lite again. I met my husband as his two little boys in 2019 and they really gave me the drive to do better and allowed me to see that I enjoyed being a role model to my now husband’s two boys. We got married last year in 2023 after a lot of hardships and made the lifelong commitment to be each other’s rock throughout life. A month after we got married I found out I was pregnant for the first time with a little girl and this really was an answered blessing from God since we wanted to expand our family. This is when the spark was rekindled and I felt like God gave me a story to share on a social media platform. I started a YouTube channel about my life being a mom of two boys and pregnant to share my experiences and build a community surrounding family and marriage. We are growing very slowly but everything is in God’s plan.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The person, mother, and wife I am today would not exist if I haven’t been brought through everything over the last few years. I had to learn how to be a partner, I had to learn how to navigate becoming a step-mom and how to establish boundaries in the early stages, I had to learn all of the strength that was inside of me to get through hard times even when you’re tired and you want to give up. Now being freshly postpartum at 3 months with my daughter I am still learning how to navigate being a mom to three children now with all different needs and personalities.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My professional career was in healthcare as a phlebotomist, medical assistant, and a laboratory technician which stemmed from my college education in molecular biology. I grew up wanting to be a doctor hence the degree. In the beginning of this year I quit my job to give birth to my daughter and I have been a stay at home mom since. Being a stay at home mom is the hardest job i have ever done because there is no breaks, there is no 30 minute lunch, and there is no clocking out at 5pm to go home. This is a 24/7 job that has the weight of your children’s lives. I am constantly teaching and learning with my children and I would not change the opportunity I had to be a stay at home mom. I am on the journey of growing my social media platforms to eventually have this as my full time profession to share my experiences for other moms to feel seen.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My husband is my biggest supporter, he just makes it happen whether that means he has to work more hours and get less sleep. I would have not even thought to record my first video if he wasn’t pushing me to and he provides for our family for all of what I do to even be possible.
