Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Vick.
Hi Tim, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My life story, we would be here all day. To make it short I’m on my fourth marriage my first and second wives passed away my third wife abandoned us and my fourth wife is my best friend and my middle school sweetheart, Nikki Vick
My son Timmy Vick is a huge wrestling fan. He has autism and previously had a head tumor. There are tons of news articles about Timmy. Anyway, we sent Timmy’s belts to our friend Serg More to do some custom modifications to his belt. During that time two people ended up stealing his belt right out the front porch of the other Serg More who was doing his belts. Thanks to social media/local news/ we got them back. But the excitement in Timmy’s eyes when he saw that belt just got me excited so I was determined to do the same thing. After many months I started doing the same exact thing modifying belts but I took it to the next level. And once I started my company it was a great opportunity to stay at home with my kids full time and be a stay-at-home dad plus work from home. I started the company roughly almost 4 years ago. I owe it All to Nikki Vick (my wife), Anthony Vick, Timmy Vick, SkyLynn Vick, Sean Johnson Jr, Zach Brewer (my kids)
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Lord no it hasn’t been easy… Because I was trying so hard to start a company from the ground up I was putting a ton of hours in and my wife at the time Timmy’s mother ended up having an affair and abandoned us so I was a single dad caring for four kids and trying to start a company. But every day after school the kids would come into my office and would come in and sit down and look at what I was working on. And I can say to this day my biggest supporter is my daughter SkyLynn Vick, she never left my side for a minute and was always helping me unscrew belts
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am known as a belt modifier. A lot of people would say what the heck is that and a lot of people would be right with that question. I do custom ideas and designs with wrestling belts, necklace pendants, belt buckles, you name it but I specialize in wrestling belts. I’m always known for taking things to the actual limit and never saying enough is enough and I will admit I’m a huge vanilla ice fan and when I thought of a name for the company that represents me, I had to use the same name as the greatest album. The belts I’m most proud of are the New Day belt that was done for Timmy that was donated by the WWE, the NWO belt that actually got us put on the map and I’m going to have to go with the Patrick belt from SpongeBob. There are a few people that do what I do but nobody else is as crazy as me and willing to go the extra Lil bit
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I’m not a big gamer at all. but I do love CSR 2, TOR, and Angry Birds 2. Also, when it comes to books my absolute favorite books are the Guinness Book of World Records and Ripley’s Believe It or Not, a book that gave me a lot of inspiration and what not to do in life was the book by Artie Lange “too fat to fish”. to be honest, I don’t listen to much of the podcasts but a “mediocre time with Tom and Dan” and “the major pod Network”
