Check Out Whitney Morgan’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Morgan.

Hi Whitney, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2003 I turned 18, a friend took me out along Church Street to celebrate, and we just so happened to stumble upon an open casting for an alternative burlesque group called Anti-Babe. Getting accepted lead me to networking with other alternative models in the Orlando area and being referred to photographers all over the US. I dabbled in all genres of modeling when I was in my early twenties, making it a full-time career at 26. Now a days my primary genre is tattoo modeling.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being self-employed is always a struggle. Surly the good parts are being your own boss, making your own schedule but not many people realize it is literally a 24/7 job, no paid vacations, no sick days, etc. It is also quite feast or famine in my case, having to be on top of every casting opportunity to secure a gig. The traveling also takes quite a toll on life at home, something I try to avoid as much as possible.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Jane of all trades in the multimedia world… I do photography, videography, editing services, makeup artistry, even have a periodic podcast… But what I’m know most for (and specialize in) is alternative modeling. I do a little bit of everything from mild to wild, but am most proud of my recent tattoo modeling. It’s a genre I have always wanted to tap into, and within the last year I’ve been greatly succeeding and even scoring a few magazine covers. As far as setting myself apart from others, I’d like to boast that my work ethic goes above and beyond, being quite the workaholic lol.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Honestly, I was quite the introverted Tom boy, it’s almost the exact opposite of my current self. I’d say in my teenage years I became more intrigued with the alt/macabre lifestyle, turning into a “goth”… guess that’s why I never had an interest in girl next door/fashion style modeling.
