Hi Xiam, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Soko started as a way to identify ourselves in the design world (ourselves being my wife and I).
As we finished our degrees we wanted to showcase how good and well done design looks like in a cool space or platform in social media.
So we landed the name Soko, after thinking about a slogan we thought ‘Everything starts from something’ was right. So we picked Something and looked for the word in other languages and in Javenese Soko means Something.
Our studio started catching eyes on Instagram for our visual identity designs and the way we bring up to life the businesses ideas of our clients. Now we are thinking about expanding our team to offer a broader range of services.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Some bumps along the way is what every business owner will find if he/she wants his/her business to succeed.
Working with social media is tough, the grind never stops. That’s our biggest mountain to climb, because content most always be on creation.
Make an engaging and strategic content plan is hard for us, and that’s why we are looking to add up a new member in the team.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are Graphic Designers, we specialize in Visual Identities, which means we design every visual piece that makes a brand memorable and appealing to a target audience: we go from logos, stationary, packaging, printables, flyers and pop, all the way to websites, social media ads, campaigns and animations.
We’ve been loving our work since day one but today we are better at what we do because we implemented strategy in our working system, so that’s what could set us apart from others: a clean and professional way of working.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Our clients have been our biggest supporters because they always mention us to theirs peers and colleagues so we can connect with others businesses, partners and clients too.
If we had to mention the most important, she must be our friend Nyousha. Thanks to her, we landed the visual identity for Alora, wich has to be by far our best work.
