Community Highlights: Meet Alex Stavrinos of The New York Pizza Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Stavrinos.

Alex, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I studied business and finance at Florida State University and began my career in business management within the retail industry. That background gave me the foundation needed to run a business with a strong focus on consistency, quality, and customer experience.

In 2004, my wife and I purchased our first restaurant, La Bella Napoli Pizzeria, in St. Cloud, FL. After several successful years, we decided to expand and open our second restaurant, The New York Pizza Company, in Kissimmee, FL. From the beginning, it was built around a true New York theme with a commitment to serving authentic New York–style pizza along with high-quality Italian food.

Today, we’re known not only for our New York–style pizza, but also for our pasta dishes, wings, and subs. A large portion of our customers are originally from New York or the East Coast, and many tell us that our pizza tastes just like home. That feedback means everything to us. Over the years, we’ve built an incredibly loyal following, with customers who return regularly and even travel from surrounding cities specifically to dine with us. Many of the guests who supported us at La Bella Napoli followed us to our Kissimmee location, which speaks to the trust and relationships we’ve built over time.

We remain very hands-on in the business and take pride in serving great food at an amazing value while creating a place that brings people back to familiar flavors and memories. That loyalty and connection with our customers is what continues to drive us every day.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Overall, it’s been a relatively smooth road, and we’re very grateful for that. Like any small business, there have been challenges along the way, especially as the cost of food, supplies, and operating expenses have continued to rise over the years.

One of our biggest priorities has always been keeping our prices fair and consistent for our customers. Even when costs increase behind the scenes, we’ve worked hard not to overcharge and to maintain the value people expect when they walk through our doors. Finding that balance hasn’t always been easy, but we believe treating customers fairly is a big reason we’ve been able to build such a loyal customer base.

Staying committed to quality, consistency, and value through changing times has been the key to navigating those challenges and continuing to grow.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a family-owned, mom-and-pop pizzeria that has proudly served Osceola County for over 21 years, including 17 years in Kissimmee. From the very beginning, our goal has been simple: to bring authentic New York–style food and atmosphere to our community.

We specialize in true New York–style brick oven pizza, along with wings, pasta, and subs, all made fresh and in-house. We’re known for our consistency, quality, value, and customer service, things we never compromise on. When customers walk through our doors, we want them to feel like they’ve stepped straight into New York, which is why our NYC-themed décor and classic pizzeria feel are such an important part of our brand.

What truly sets us apart is our consistency and the relationships we’ve built over the years. We’re incredibly proud of the number of regular customers who have been coming back to us for years and even decades, and of the strong reputation our brand has earned throughout the community. That loyalty means everything to us.

We want readers to know that when they dine with us, they can always expect fresh, high-quality food, friendly service, and great value. Everything is made in-house, and we work hard to offer amazing deals without ever cutting corners, so families and customers can return again and again knowing they’ll leave happy every time.

How do you define success?
We define success by the happiness and loyalty of our customers. When people tell us how much they love our food, how welcoming our staff is, and that they’ve been coming to us for years, that means everything to us. Seeing familiar faces return again and again and knowing we’re creating positive experiences for families and the community is our true measure of success.
