Today we’d like to introduce you to Anamaria De Leon.
Hi Anamaria, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a disabled cosmetic chemist that left the corporate world to pursue her own dreams of creating an honest, pure and transparent company that would cater to its clients needs. A mom of three, wife to an Army Infantry veteran and fur mom to a morkie.
As a teen, I wanted to help my mother with her joint pain and so I began dabbling into herbalism, hoping to help her without the use of prescription medication. One thing spiraled into another and I found myself studying herbalism and naturopathic medicine while in college for pre-Med. After I became a wife during my medical college years, I soon found out I was pregnant and switched my career from cardiothoracic surgery to chemistry. Beauty had always appealed to me and so cosmetic chemistry became my second choice.
I have over a decade experience working for designer houses and labs around the world and left after developing autoimmune diseases due to toxin exposure in the industry. I now hope Honey + Peach Studios can become something special to everyone.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Nothing worth keeping is ever easy. From being what felt like a single parent for so long with a husband overseas to attending school while being a full-time parent and caregiver to two disabled parents. It’s been a hell of a ride, yet I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Leaving my full-time job was scary; you’re human and often wonder what if you fail? What if one month I can’t pay my bills or what my family needs? Especially with this pandemic but knowing that one client trusts me with their family and their needs to have access to safe, natural and wholesome products, then that keeps me going. We, my clients and I are a team. I’m honored to be where I am and can’t wait to see what comes next.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are an all-vegan luxury brand that specializes in bath and body, skincare and home fragrances. I’m proud to say that we offer customization of all of our products to cater to the needs of every individual. Remember, no two skin types are alike; no two bodies are alike either.
Unlike a big-box retailer or corporation, we can customize our products to fit your needs. The years of experience in the cosmetic field also is at every client’s fingertips with no added charge. We try to keep our plastic use to a minimum and recycle all of our jars in our buy-back program. Also, putting a stop to human and child trafficking is very dear to my heart and we donate a portion of all our sales to this cause.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Do what you love each day and you’ve succeeded. A client telling you how amazing the product they got from you was is success. A customer trusting you is success.
