Community Highlights: Meet Angel Eggebraaten of Gypsy Roads Marketing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Eggebraaten.

Hi Angel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I didn’t start Gypsy Roads Marketing because it sounded fun.
I started it because I’d watched too many good businesses fail for stupid, avoidable reasons.

For over thirty years, I’ve been inside marketing — not the Instagram version of it, the real version. I’ve worked through print, radio, early web, SEO before it was cool, social media before anyone knew what to do with it, and digital “experts” before they actually had experience. I’ve seen trends rise, peak, and quietly die. I’ve watched platforms change the rules mid-game. And I’ve watched small business owners get blamed when the real problem was bad strategy and no system.

What I saw over and over again was this:
Hard-working people doing great work…
…with chaotic, disconnected marketing held together by duct tape and hope.

They were posting because someone told them they had to.
Running ads they didn’t understand.
Chasing “visibility” without a plan.
Measuring success by likes instead of leads.

And when it didn’t work, they assumed they were the problem.

They weren’t.

The problem was that nobody taught them how to build marketing on purpose.

Gypsy Roads Marketing exists because chaos isn’t a personality trait — it’s a liability.
And small businesses deserve better than random tactics and recycled advice.

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all marketing.
I don’t believe in hacks, shortcuts, or “just post more.”
And I don’t believe your business should feel like it’s constantly on fire.

I believe in foundations.
Clear positioning.
Consistent messaging.
Systems that work when you’re busy, tired, or not “feeling creative.”
Marketing that supports your business instead of running it.

I work with builders, trades, real estate professionals, creatives, venues, and motorcycle brands because these industries don’t need hype — they need trust, reputation, and visibility that actually converts. These are relationship-driven businesses. If your marketing doesn’t reflect that, it will never work long-term.

Gypsy Roads Marketing isn’t about making noise.
It’s about making sense.

It’s about turning scattered effort into a strategy.
Turning guesswork into a plan.
Turning “I hope this works” into “I know why this works.”

I don’t promise overnight success.
I promise clarity.
I promise honesty.
And I promise marketing that’s built to last — not collapse the moment a platform changes its algorithm.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s never a smooth road. If owning a business was easy, everyone would be doing it, but I love the challenge.

Gypsy Roads is actually going through one of the biggest challenges any small business can go through, scalability.

We have to adjust our growth according to what we can actually do. It’s easy to get tempted to go with the fast growth that is knocking on the door. Experience has taught me giving into that temptation is a recipe for failure.

That said, I am looking forward to expanding Gypsy Roads Marketing & Promotions in 2026 and will be looking to add creative, experienced members to the GRM team.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Gypsy Roads Marketing & Promotions specializes in turning side-gigs into real businesses, small businesses to big business.

Marketing is a science, we study the psychology of our client’s audience. What motivates your potential customer to become an actual customer? What does your potential customer need to feel in order to become an actual customer?

Marketing is an art. We write and create marketing campaigns that resonate emotionally and visually. Our Founder is a published professional writer and has been writing web copy since 2000.

Marketing is an instinct, and it is what I, personally, am most proud of. I have a killer instinct when it comes to marketing.

I think we are known for having a no BS attitude and our excellent results.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
There is so much to love about Orlando and Central Florida, from the entertainment to the ecosystem. I love that my roses bloom year round.

Every day is a good day to ride the motorcycle, especially once you get out of the urban traffic areas. Here in Lake County, we have excellent riding, the hills and curves uncommon to the rest of the state.
