Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Martinez.
Hi Ariel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was introduced to açai bowls while stationed in Hawaii (2016) and fell in love! That day, I told my best friend I would love to have a fruit cart of some sort on a beach one day. Fast forward to 2021, I’m now part-time military, a full-time stay-at-home mom of two, and living blocks away from the beach.
I couldn’t think of a better time to focus on this goal. With the support of my incredible husband and amazing mom, I started just that. We opened our window on July 30th, 2022 and it has been amazing. I’m so happy to be able to introduce people to açaí and give them the same feeling I had in 2016.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t always been smooth, but what fun would that be? Getting the required permits was a fun obstacle to go over and over and over again. Fear of failure was a big struggle for me, but once things started moving, there was no turning back.
The original plan was for my cousin and me to start the business, but when that didn’t happen, it opened up the opportunity to do this with my mom and that is something I am sooooo grateful for. I believe in things aligning when they are meant to and that’s what keeps this journey exciting.
We’ve been impressed with Vibes, The Fruit Spot, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Fruit Spot is a food trailer that specializes in açaí bowls. Aside from açaí, we offer an array of sorbet bases to the top with a wide range of fresh fruit and superfoods.
The Fruit Spot is set up to provide breakfast/lunch at the office or bring the Vibes after. Loaded with speakers and LEDs, The Fruit Spot can take your special event to the next level. We offer delicious bowls 5 days a week and At-Home Kits so that you can enjoy a bowl from the comforts of your home or office any time of day.
