Community Highlights: Meet Beverly Williams of Glam Girlz Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beverly Williams.

Hi Beverly, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Hi, my name is Beverly Williams. I am one of the owners of Glam Girlz Boutique. We started the business back June 06, 2020. When we started our name was Williams Fashionable Creations. I have always wanted my own clothing line/clothing store. Since I was a little girl. Nobody told me how hard it was going to be. How many people want something for nothing. So I gave up Dec 10,2020 in shut down. It was too much for me to handle. I kept thinking about re-opening but I kept saying no this is not for me. I not built for this. Something click on me while I was 7 in half months pregnant. In I told my husband that I want to reopen my boutique but with a different name. I started going to pop up shops. Getting all my marketing materials together. Some was successful. Some was a lesson to learn to do better. I keep going for my family. I want them to see where hard work can take them. Now I am not where I want to be in business but we get there soon. It took a lot of failed attempts. A lot of sleepless night, crying in wondering what am I doing wrong. No matter how hard it gets I have told myself we will not give up. We have shipped to at least 6 different states outside of Florida. Marketing in getting out my comfort zone is what make us who we are today. To be able to be offered a spot in one of the biggest pop up shops in Atlanta for the masquerade pop up shop. Is one of our biggest achievements. Never give up on your dream. Keep going till you get where you want to be in life.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, I will not sit here in say it been an easy road. I have had times when I wanted to throw in the towel. After long nights, stressed out, & crying. I had days where I get no sales to people want the product to people want a discount. Because they think that just because a person is BLACK OWNED that business is not supposed to run professional & give them all these crazy deals. It had me to the point of saying this business role is not for me. It is always a headache when you first start off in don’t know who sell to or who to target to.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are an online boutique for women & men. We specialize in women handbags, men & women shades, wallets, belts & shapewear. We are known for our clothing products. We are different from most boutiques because we are not in it for the money. We hand pick our products & make sure our customers get the very best quality for what they are paying for. We make our prices reasonable. We are not the cheapest but we are not the highest. We still make it affordable for every tax bracket. I am most proud of seeing how far we have come in the last 2 years. Started with no logo or marketing materials. To no we have all the marketing supplies, we are transiting into an LLC & most important to see my business name on all these tax documents gives me chills. We are here to service everyone no age or race matters to us. If you want something that not on our website we take custom orders. All you have to do is go to our website & submit the information through contact form or email. www.glamgirlzboutiques.com or glamgirlzboutique2021@gmail.com.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite memory is seeing how hard my mom work to make sure we had everything we needed in wanted. No matter how little or how big money we had. We were always taught to go after our dreams.
