Hi Brianna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, my name is Brianna Whiting I am the owner of a custom wig line, Makings of Bre Hair. I created Makings of Bre Hair for every woman in every aspect of life to not only feel but look beautiful.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I believe with starting any new business there will be a few bumps in the road especially in the beginning. A few of my struggles have been finding and choosing the best product, the best marketing strategy and overcoming my own fears and doubts.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Makings of Bre Hair?
Makings Of Bre Hair is a custom wig line. What makes my wigs custom is that I make each wig from scratch using a sewing machine. The hair that I use is virgin unprocessed hair, which means that there are no harsh chemicals in the hair and also that the hair can be dyed, bleached, shampooed, etc. Every wig is made on a ventilated cap which allows it to be more breathable and comfortable. No wig in my collection is duplicated unless requested. I am honored to be able to donate wigs to women battling cancer, cancer survivors and even for the women who purchase my wigs I am grateful to make us all look beautiful!
My inspiration comes from my late aunt who passed away due to cancer. Before my aunt transitioned she would always ask me to do her hair once it started falling out due to chemo. At the time I did not know how to create wigs but I promised myself that one day I would learn. Through Makings of Bre hair I am able to donate custom wigs to women battling cancer and even women who are cancer survivors. When people see Makings of Bre Hair logo I want them to know and understand exactly what Makings of Bre Hair represents; the lotus flower symbolizes purity, transformation and beauty arising from the mud and the Phoenix bird symbolizes rebirth, renewal and grace. My desire is for women to wear their crown (hair) proudly despite the many obstacles we all face.
Any big plans?
In the future, I would love to open a wig boutique for women to be able to come in try on wigs, sip coffee, tea, wine and just relax and feel beautiful! A huge goal for me is to have my wigs a part of the American cancer society and even on the shelves of beauty stores all over the world.
