
Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsey Bichay.
Chelsey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always had a deep passion for organizing, party planning, and interior design. I’m a full-time nanny and felt like I needed some type of creative outlet – that could potentially become a second income. One day, my boss and I were chatting about what she could do to celebrate her husband’s birthday on short notice. I suggested an intimate picnic and she loved the idea – but wanted something a little more elevated and special. So we came up with a luxury picnic! I realized I could absolutely make a business out of this idea, and she encouraged me to go for it! I invested what little bit of savings I had into the essentials to get my business started, and then my family and friends helped me with the rest – building tables, initial set ups, anything I needed! My very first picnic set up was May 2021 and I have been having the best time creating and cultivating such special memories for my clients ever since.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think being a business owner has lots of obstacles in itself, but my passion for what I do keeps me motivated to push through any struggles or disappointments. The major struggle I deal with is the elements – Floridas weather is extremely unpredictable and although I will do everything possible to accommodate through the rain – whether that means rescheduling or setting up indoors, it definitely adds stress and can be disappointing.

As I previously said in the last couple of slides, my top priorities and what matters most to me is 1. Customer satisfaction and 2. Creating and cultivating special memories for my clients.
