Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Connors.
Hi Crystal, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I started The Clean Team Enterprises, LLC, I was actually participating in a Housing for Homeless program. I wasn’t starting a business from a place of financial security, and I certainly didn’t have investors, startup capital or a perfect business plan. I was a single mother trying to build stability for my family and create a better future for my children.
What I did have was a strong work ethic and the determination to make something happen.
Cleaning was something I knew I could do well, but I quickly realized that doing it well meant much more than simply completing a checklist. I treated every client’s home the way I would want someone to treat my own. I paid attention to the things other people walked past, took pride in the details and built relationships with my clients. Little by little, word of mouth began to grow the business.
There were no shortcuts. I cleaned the houses, answered the phone, scheduled the jobs, handled the customers, bought the supplies, did the paperwork and figured out the business side as I went. Every client mattered because every client represented another step toward the life I was trying to build.
Over time, The Clean Team became much more than a way for me to provide for my family. It became something I was genuinely proud to put my name behind.
Today, to look at where the company started and where it is now is incredibly humbling. I’ve earned recognition and awards that I never could have imagined when I was first starting out. But what means the most to me is knowing that I built something from the ground up while creating the stability for my family that I had always wanted but never had growing up.
My circumstances may have been where my story started, but I refused to let them determine where my story ended.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges was learning how to balance building and running a business while being a full-time single mom. In fact, one of the reasons I started my company was because I needed the flexibility to be there for my children—whether that meant picking them up from school, taking them to doctor appointments, staying home when they were sick, or simply being present when they needed me.
When my children were younger, there were even days when they had to come to work with me. Thankfully, my clients loved having them around because they were so well-mannered. I was juggling motherhood, working full-time and building a business all at once, and there were definitely days when it wasn’t easy.
But I never wanted to feel like I had to choose between being a successful business owner and being the mother my children needed. So I learned how to make both work. Looking back, some of the hardest years were also the years that taught me the most about determination, time management and what I was capable of.
My children were a huge part of the reason I started this business, and they have always been a huge part of the reason I kept going.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The clean team enterprises, llc?
The Clean Team Enterprises, LLC provides residential, commercial, and construction cleaning services. What sets us apart is our attention to detail and the standard we maintain for every client.
Every new residential client starts with a detailed deep cleaning, and from there, we maintain that level with each visit. We don’t believe in simply working from a checklist, if a fan, blind, baseboard or other area needs attention, we take care of it.
I treat every client’s home the way I would want someone to treat my own. We don’t have hidden costs or added charges for basic details, we use professional commercial grade products, and all cleaning cloths are washed and sanitized after every home.
I’m incredibly proud of the reputation I’ve built, the recognition I’ve received, and most importantly, the trust my clients place in me.
I am coming up on 16 years since the day I began this journey, and I am incredibly thankful for every client who took a chance on me. I don’t pay for advertising, word of mouth is what has built my business, and to me, that speaks volumes about the relationships I’ve built and the quality of work I provide.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I honestly don’t have one specific favorite childhood memory. My childhood wasn’t always easy, and we moved around a lot. My childhood lacked stability and security. But those experiences shaped the woman and mother I became. They made me determined to create something different for my own children, a stable home, security, and memories rooted in one place. In a way, watching my children grow up with the stability I always wanted has become one of the greatest gifts of my life.
Knowing that I changed that story for my children means everything to me.
