Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Bush.
Hi DJ, We’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. Before we get into specifics, could you briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Music has always been a part of my story. My mom likes to say I was dancing before I could walk. She and my pops played music in the house and the car. My lifelong love of good music and appreciation for its ability to connect people led me to start DJing professionally in 2019. My goal as a DJ is to give my clients and their guests the best experience possible. We all deserve to have a good time. My job is facilitating that good time and keeping the stress levels down. I commonly coordinate with the other vendors at a wedding to ensure everything runs smoothly. Remaining attentive, professional, and flexible has allowed me the opportunity to grow my business in ways I never could have imagined. Even with 50+ bookings a year, I’m always amazed and grateful that my love for music has afforded me this opportunity.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story. Has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
I’ve encountered a few challenges that have helped me grow once I learned how to navigate them. The biggest for me was learning who my ideal client is. The other challenge was how to market my services effectively. Lastly, I made sure to improve on what I’m not strong at while continuing to lean into what sets me apart from other service providers.
We’ve been impressed with DJ Bush Entertainment, but for folks who might need to be more familiar, what can you share about what you do and what sets you apart?
My vision for DJ Bush Entertainment is to turn good events into significant events that my clients and their guests will discuss for years. In addition to providing the right music for the affair, I have event enhancements available to take any event to the next level. Enhancements include uplighting, a selfie station, and the walking-on-cloud effect. I include an event success meeting with each event to ensure that I understand the client’s vision. I strive to exceed expectations, and with over 70 5-star reviews on Google, my clients agree.
What changes are you expecting to see in your work and the industry over the next five to ten years?
The entertainment / DJ industry will change within the next few years. The continued immersion of AI in everything from how we mix tracks to what our promotional materials will look like is constantly ramping up. I’ve heard the following phrase used in other industries, and it’s also applicable in our space. “AI will not replace the DJ; DJs who use AI will replace those who don’t.” There used to be a high price point threshold that priced people out of becoming a DJ, but the continuance of affordable and quality gear has made it much easier to step into this industry. This has led to many new styles and plenty of innovation. I expect that to continue.
