Today we’d like to introduce you to Terry and Emily Griffith.
Terry and Emily, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My husband Terry Griffith a (Chicago native) and myself, Emily Griffith (Florida native), started our family business November 2019. Terry moved from the windy city Chicago, Illinois and decided to bring the fondness of Italian ice to the sunshine state of Florida. We are a family – owned business. We started with one mobile truck and now have two mobile trucks and three bicycle carts. Our mission is to grow our business and share our hometown’s favorite to as many people as we can. The secret to our premium frozen dessert is in the water use. We ship the water from up north to keep the consistency and the unmatched quality of our Italian Ice. Once you try our Italian Ice, it’s a crave that you don’t want to resist!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was not smooth sailing when we opened in Nov. 2019. Because the peak of the season Covid hit us all, events we had scheduled were canceled, we didn’t know what to do. Then one day we decided to just start driving through neighborhoods because everyone was home bond for covid reasons and it was a success from there, now we do events, neighborhoods.
We’ve been impressed with Chicago Italian Ice, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The secret to our premium frozen dessert is in the water use. We ship the water from up north to keep the consistency and the unmatched quality of our Italian Ice. Once you try our Italian Ice, it’s a crave that you don’t want to resist!
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is playing in the snow and enjoying being a kid.
