Community Highlights: Meet Janaee Williams of Janaee Sais Quoi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janaee Williams.

Hi Janaee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Janaee Sais Quoi was birthed out of me needing a creative outlet and just wanting to share my passion for our natural beauty and essence. I’ve always been into beauty trends and serious about having a good skin care regimen. I have very sensitive skin therefore I have to be mindful of what I consume and put on my skin. For years I would make these little concoctions of natural oils, experimenting, keeping the recipe very simple. When I started noticing the benefits, I was like “ok girl! The people need this.” 2017 is when I really got the idea of creating an actual brand for an all natural skincare line but I sat on the idea because I was in the middle of my MBA program and didn’t feel like I had the time, truth is I didn’t make the time. Towards the end of 2019, my grandmother passed away and that was heartbreaking for me. A lot of my dreams, goals and visions were shared with her, including what is now known as “Janaee Sais Quoi”. So much of what I know about being a dignified woman, classy, sophisticated, taking care of herself and being about her business came from her and my mother. I was blessed to be able to grieve her in a healthy way because when 2020 rolled in and the pandemic hit, I put all that grief into doing something that would make her proud. I became focused on my plan and everything I needed to launch my business started aligning for me. I got really serious about my branding, registering my business, research, product ingredients, etc. Janaee Sais Quoi officially launched on October 1, 2020.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There has definitely been what I call growing pains. Mainly just trying to get past that spirit of wanting everything to be perfect. It’s not realistic and that is unnecessary stress. Also, wanting my business to be successful has also forced me to fine-tune some things personally. Things like discipline, accountability, enforcing boundaries and setting my feelings aside to remain focused on my goals. Pacing myself has been major. I have big goals in mind but I have to remind myself often “Janaee, girl…pace yourself”.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Janaee Sais Quoi?
Janaee Sais Quoi is an all-natural skincare brand offering luxury skincare products for men and women. The name itself sets the brand apart from others. The actual term “je·ne·sais·quoi” means to have that intangible and elusive quality that makes something distinctive or attractive; that thing. With a slight play on the name, Janaee Sais Quoi-is that it thing. The products are hand-crafted with 100% all-natural ingredients that have healing properties physically and energetically. All botanicals are selected with that in mind. I also pray over the products while they set just to send out good vibes and all my love with each product. As the brand expands, more products will be added to the catalog outside of skincare to add a holistic experience of healing and cleansing ourselves inside out. Janaee Sais Quoi is all about offering quality products, quality service and quality presentation. I want my people to feel good, look good, smell good and do good.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is being in alignment with what God’s will for my life is so that blessings can flow to me with ease. Success is doing things out of love and not fear. Success is trusting in myself never selling myself short. Success is using my passion/purpose for the betterment of the world. Although I understand the importance of money, I don’t believe it defines success or that it’s even something I need to worry about because wealth and abundance follow me wherever I go.
