Community Highlights: Meet Jay Garcia at Comparion Insurance

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Garcia.

Jay, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I first started in the insurance industry selling door to door. I would knock on your door and convince you to make a claim on your homeowners insurance policy to make a profit, plus fix any damages they currently had. I worked against the insurance companies to get my clients paid. This commission only gig only lasted a few months and transitioned as an insurance agent.

I first worked at Allstate and it was a terrible experience haha. I said, this is terrible, I can’t do this forever. I eventually quit and started doing digital marketing for a while. That also did not work. I was going through a really rough patch in my life in-between jobs with no sense of direction. I was completely lost. I ended up meeting my, now wife, and because i was going through a rough patch I didn’t have money to pay for a lot of things. And she stuck around regardless. It didn’t take too long for me to go back to insurance where i was a respectable member of society and had an important job, which was to protect families in the event of bad situations.

My wife and I moved to Orlando and started a company called Orlando Car Club. It was a massive organization that hosted the biggest car shows in Orlando. Hundreds of cars and peoples. We hosted mansion events, Stadiums events, public and private events. Due to my massive network in the car show space I have been able to funnel friends, family member, and just people who follow our Instagram into clients. I now rank #1 in the South East Region of the country in sales as a Sales Agent for Liberty Mutual. Making over 6 figures a year while saving clients hundreds and thousands of dollars every month.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely was not. When moving to Orlando from Miami, i worked for multiple Statefarm agencies and unfortunately it came with a lot of racism from agency owners, peers, and clients. The first agent i worked for, out of the 20 years in business, it took 17 years for them to hire their first spanish speaker. They would hang upon spanish clients, and not service or attend them. They would try to devalue me but i never let them. I knew my value as an individual and it never let it stopped me.

As a single Agent, Alone. I sell more in a month, than what most Statefarm Agencies produce as a whole.

As you know, we’re big fans of Jay Garcia at Comparion Insurance . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Comparion is a nationwide mega insurance agency. It is a Liberty Mutual company. we have access to close to 40 companies to help clients save money whether they are new to us or renewing with us.

I am a Sales Agent. The Sales Agents are basically the agency owners if you compare it to another insurance franchise. Although. Liberty Mutual is not a franchise. It is all Corporate.

What sets me a part of my peers is the connection to the city of Orlando. Thanks to my car show business i have been a staple in the community to help people save money on their insurance. I insure a ton of collector cars. Classics, Imports, and exotic cars. There is no agent in the industry that has the knowledge that I have in regard to these vehicles. I am known as the exotic car agent in all of Florida including Tampa, Miami, and Orlando. My passion for cars has given me a big Niche market, which they know they can trust and count on me for their insurance needs.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
