Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Torres.
Hi Jose, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
All started when I was living in Houston years ago, I saw a yard sign that said pressure washing and it made me curious, I didn’t know what it was, from that day I started looking for information about it and I liked the business but I didn’t have the financial means to start it. Sometime later I moved to North Carolina with my wife since they offered me a job there, I spent 6 months working with roofing and the job did not go as promised, so I decided to quit, we could not move from that city since we had a contract for 12 months in our old apartment, so I started looking for work of any kind; I applied to several places among those there were some of pressure washing. They called me for two interviews as a pressure washing worker and finally, I chose the one I considered best, they offered to train me from scratch, they even took me to courses in the state of Florida, specifically in the city of West Palm Beach, I learned a lot, they taught me everything I know, I was working and living in North Carolina more than we had planned. Over time we began to feel lonely because we had no family or friends in North Carolina. My wife started with the idea of moving to Orlando where her parents live and we made the decision to move there, so I had to quit my job to move to Florida. When I arrived in Orlando, I did not know what to do but I came with the idea of starting my own pressure washing business, the problem was that I did not have the financial resources to start, we applied for loans in which we were rejected, we looked for the money to start in the world of pressure washing but we did not find it. A short time later we told my father-in-law about what we wanted to do and he decided to lend us the money to buy the truck and the equipment. As a result, they spent around 2 months assembling all the equipment, uniform, and labeling of the truck, etc. At first, it was hard because we had no clients, my wife and I went to residences to knock on doors to offer our services, we left yard signs and flyers on the doors of the houses. Until little by little clients were calling, we started having perhaps 1 job every 15 days, it was hard but we were persistent. Clients began to recommend us since they had really liked our work. And so, little by little, more and more clients called until today that we have a full agenda every day we work, sometimes we don’t stop, we even work on weekends if the owner of the house agrees. God has been good to us, our secret has always been to be persistent, patient and this biblical verse that identifies us: “Whatever you do, do it willingly, as if you were serving the Lord Jesus Christ and not people.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Firstly, the money to start was a limitation, then the lack of clients since we were a new company with so many in Orlando.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
We have plans to expand throughout the country and become a franchise
