Rae & Mae Boutique is a small-town, family-owned business by two women who love fashion and love to shop! Our store is located in the heart of historic, small downtown DeLand. Its cute name is after the daughters of owners Ashley and Kali. We started in December of 2022 by simply opening a strictly online sales-only boutique but realized a storefront was much needed for many reasons. Our clients could try clothes and see the product they intended to purchase. Within 6 months of opening, we launched our storefront. The business has taught us much about growing a brand, getting customers in the door, and understanding how boutiques work. We’re looking forward to growing in 2024 to bring more fun styles while staying affordable.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Owning a retail business takes work. Its challenges include keeping up with the latest trends and demands, following inventory budgets, and providing customer service. Social media marketing has been interesting to learn. Thinking of content to create for reels keeps the mind going. Sometimes an outfit that looks good in your head, may not look the best on your body type, but could look amazing on someone else. Stay interactive with your social media, engage with your audience, and post content daily. Taking many selfies and talking on camera about fashion even if you feel awkward.

Rae & Mae Boutique is full of various clothing for women of all ages, from dresses to rompers, jeans, bodysuits, and t-shirts. We know that women love options, especially when it comes to clothes. One of our biggest goals in opening our store was to strive to bring you affordable fashion with high quality. Along with a range of trendy clothing, we offer various jewelry, handbags, and shoes. And not just sandals; we have super cute, fashionable sneakers! They even have glitter! Our favorite part of our job is meeting new people, whether they’re locals or people visiting our historic downtown. We have formed many new relationships along the way, as customers have turned into friends, and friends have turned into family. We are very grateful for the support from our locals and visitors who have helped grow our store into what it is today.

We strive to create an experience for every customer who checks out our boutique while pricing our clothing to be affordable. We hope women find what they want reasonably priced and feel beautiful wearing it.
