Community Highlights: Meet Katie Campbell of The Staging Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Campbell.

Hi Katie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The Staging Studio: A Mother–Daughter Trio Bringing Homes to Life

We’re Katie, Kayla, and Emily, a mother-and-two-daughters team with a shared passion for beautiful homes and spaces. Together, we founded The Staging Studio, where we combine our natural eye for design with our love of creating warm, welcoming environments that make people feel at home.

What do we do at The Staging Studio?

We partner with homeowners, realtors, agents, and Airbnb hosts, anyone looking to transform a space into something inviting, and stylish. About a year ago, we noticed a growing need for professional home staging in our area. While cities like Orlando and Tampa have thriving staging industries, Lake and Marion counties offer far fewer options. We knew we could help fill that gap.

Our specialty is preparing homes that are heading onto the market, or have been listed with little success. Whether a home is empty and cold or currently occupied but not appealing to the masses, we reimagine and refresh it. Our goal is always the same: to create a space that feels warm, cozy, and irresistible from the moment someone steps through the front door.

Early on, we learned that staging can make a big difference. Statistics show that staged homes sell up to 73% faster than unstaged ones, and unstaged homes average 184 days on the market, while staged homes average only 41 days.
We’ve seen these results firsthand, several of our staged homes have received offers within days of listing!

Balancing our schedules can be a whirlwind. Kayla works full-time as a branch co-manager at a local bank, and Emily is a local Nurse Practitioner. Before starting The Staging Studio, Katie owned and operated an Airbnb full-time. Despite our busy lives, we love every minute we spend working together.

The three of us have always been close, and building a business as a team has been a dream come true. We’re endlessly grateful for the trust and friendships we’ve gained throughout our hometown and beyond. The support from our community has been such a blessing.

We’re excited about the future of The Staging Studio and the growth we see ahead. Our greatest strength is our genuine love for meeting new people and helping them reach their goals, all while doing what we feel called to do: create spaces that make people feel happy, at peace, and right at home.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We’ve had our share of obstacles and challenges since we launched The Staging Studio about eight months ago. We were blessed to hit the ground running, but almost faster than we were ready for! Within days, we had contracts lined up. Those first weeks and months were a whirlwind, and we definitely stumbled our way through them while learning on the go.

We built our inventory as we went, and our very first staging job came so quickly that we didn’t even own a dining table or beds yet. Our solution? Borrow from our own homes! We used Emily’s dining table and guest bed, and a guest bed from my home to furnish that house. We still laugh about the fact that Emily went without a dining table in her home for a month and a half.

Then came the little issue of storage as the furniture orders started rolling in. Kayla’s and Emily’s garages filled up quickly, as well as my entryway and guest room. We were all relieved to get our own homes back in order by eventually renting a large storage space.

Looking back, those early challenges gave us some of our funniest memories. We can laugh about them now, and honestly, they’re a big part of what makes this journey so meaningful. Every obstacle we’ve faced has brought us closer and made our business stronger.

We’ve been impressed with The Staging Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a mother-two daughters trio! We take homes and make them ready to sell. Whether it’s an empty house or an owner occupied home, we reimagine and refresh, making a space warm, cozy, and awe inspiring as soon as a buyer walks through the door.

How do you think about luck?
We truly feel we’ve been blessed. From the very beginning, it has felt like we’re walking in our calling, doing the work we were meant to do. Doors are opening at just the right time, the right people are crossing our path, and opportunities seemed to be unfolding in ways we didn’t see coming.
We genuinely believe God has been good to us, guiding our steps and giving us the courage to keep moving forward. That’s been the biggest part of our success, trusting that we’re exactly where we’re supposed to be.
