Community Highlights: Meet Kellie Ramsey of Pixel Groves

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kellie Ramsey.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into photography and videography started at a young age. Growing up, my parents had a video camera and would film just about everything—capturing the everyday moments of our lives. That early exposure to documenting memories really stuck with me.

By the time I was 9 or 10, my brother, my friends and I were making up stories, acting out plays and recording them— just for fun. Soon after that, I started “editing” in-camera, pausing and playing to create makeshift scenes and dialogue. It was playful and a bit chaotic, but it was my first taste of storytelling through a lens.

After high school, I decided to attend Full Sail University in Orlando, where I dove deep into the technical side of photo and video production. I learned how to shoot, light, edit, and really shape a visual story with intention and creativity.

Today, I run my own wedding photography and videography business—something I’m incredibly proud of. There’s something so powerful about capturing love stories as they unfold in real time. Every couple, every celebration is completely unique, and getting to preserve those moments is truly an honor.

I’m also so lucky to be backed by an incredible team. They bring so much heart, talent, and dedication to every shoot, and together we’re able to create experiences that go beyond just beautiful visuals—we get to create lasting memories.

It’s been a journey filled with learning, growth, and a lot of love—literally—and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road—but I think that’s just part of building something meaningful. One of the biggest challenges I faced early on was simply getting started while trying to balance so many different parts of life. At the time, I had a newborn and a toddler, was working a full-time job during the week, and building my business in the evenings. Most nights, I’d be photo editing after the kids were asleep, and weekends were spent shooting weddings and then jumping back into more editing. It truly felt like I was working 24/7.

That season was intense, and trying to juggle work, family, and growing a business was incredibly tough. But I was passionate about what I was creating and determined to build something that would last—and that kept me going.

I also have to say, I wouldn’t have made it through without the support of my husband. He’s been my biggest supporter from the very beginning—encouraging me when things felt overwhelming, standing beside me through every late night, and reminding me why I started in the first place. His belief in me gave me the push I needed during the hardest moments, and I truly wouldn’t be here without him.

Another big hurdle was learning how to actually run a business. I came in with a strong background in photography, videography, and marketing, but the backend side of things—like pricing, invoicing, QuickBooks, contracts, taxes—was a whole new world. It took a lot of trial and error, late nights of Googling, and leaning on others in the industry to figure it all out. That learning curve was real.

But over time, things started to click. I created systems, built a support team, and slowly began to find a better rhythm. It was hard, but every struggle played a role in shaping the business I have today—and I’m so grateful for the journey, and the people who helped me get here.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something people might not know about me? I hate chocolate (I know—wild!), we own an orange grove, and if I could spend all my time in the water, I would. I’m a mom of two, dog lover, and I never finish my coffee—but I keep trying.

I’m beyond excited and honored to be featured in the OrlandoVoyager—it means so much to share a piece of my story with this amazing community!
