Hi Kelly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hello, my name is Kelly Thompson my story actually starts in the United Kingdom. I am British, 43 years old, a wife, a mum, and a licensed Florida REALTOR®️; we have lived in Windermere, FL for the last nine years after deciding to explore what living in the United States would be like for us as a family. The move here for us was HUGE; we sold everything we owned in the UK, left our family and friends, arriving here with a suitcase each, nowhere to live and a deep desire to succeed.
Fast forward nine years later, lots of sleepless nights, lots of pressure to create our new life, lots of adventures (good and bad), lessons learnt, memories made, many incredible new friends (thankfully) and a business that I love! @kelly_thompson_globalrealtor
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest struggle for us was trying to integrate our children into a whole new life while setting up my husbands business initially, learning how to be licensed, insured, marketed while establishing our reputation in the local community following a whole new book of rules and regulations, it was very intense. Every obstacle we have faced, we have had to work even harder to overcome.
Our “challenges” gave me the insight I needed to set my real estate business up and head into it with confidence, experience, local knowledge and a genuine personalized customer service experience that I offer to all my customers. I also have the habit of taking the positives out of the negatives, which in turn has always helped me to push so much harder for success.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a licensed REALTOR®️ in the central Florida region, Orlando, Winter Garden, Windermere, Dr. Phillips, Clermont, Montverde to name a few of my most recent sale areas. My license is attached to my brokerage Premier Sotheby’s International Realty I chose to partner with PSIR because being British, I instantly recognized the brand and understand how valuable their reputation is worldwide.
I am dedicated to making each interaction with my customers personalized, professional, and more than a business transaction, I want to be their resource for every part of their move, selling or buying I am committed to making the experience as smooth and streamlined as possible. My passion is to exceed your standards! I enjoy creating new relationships and making friends along the way.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Right now, we are in a hot seller’s market in my area. The number one question is always with reference to a housing “market crash” Remember, this has been a truly unpredictable year and no one could answer this question with 100% accuracy. My personal prediction would be that the market will slow over the next year or two, but that doesn’t mean prices will deflate; I think prices will still rise but not at the rate we have seen this last few months.
Florida is one of the top moving destinations in America right now and central Florida is actually booming. We have jobs available, attractions in every direction, the weather and beaches less than an hour away. The outlook is positive.
