Ketsia Fuentes

Hi Ketsia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Well, my story starts like any others, right, graduate from high school and think we have it all planned out…. I went to OCSA for high school and when I graduated I was sure I was going to go to college for law. I was going to be an entertainment lawyer, so I could continue being involved in music one way or another. I began taking classes and along the line decided to change my mind. I began to take accounting classes, because I liked working with the numbers, but again I changed my mind and decided you know what I want to take a break from school. During that time I focused on being a mom and working. Later on I lost my grandmother and began having dreams that I worked in a medical office, so I took the leap ad went to school for Medical Assisting. I loved this! I graduated and began working right away, I felt I had found my calling. I did this for almost 7 year and then the world changed. I found myself having to chose between my children and my job. Of course, I chose my kids and then found myself wondering what do I do from here. I did crafting as a hobby/side hustle, I liked but it was not something I was obsessed with. So I went back to school for Media Communications (drastic change from career field, I know). I wanted to get my bachelors and everything seemed the color pink until I found myself bored with the routine, life was lifin’ as we say, I was facing challenges with my son’s school, all the while trying to manage it all without going crazy (mom, wife, student, employee… how many others can relate?) and I could not find balance or peace within it all. My thought then was okay, where do I go from here? So I stopped going to school and focused more on learning about social media. I took advantage of the incentives some platforms were offering and made some money off them, only to realize, “hey, you’re good at this!” I truly believe I have found something I am passionate about. This brings me to where I am today: Your Social Media Bestie!! A Social Media Strategist and Manager.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
If I told you it has been a smooth road, that would be an absolute lie. I truly believe some of the struggles I have faced, all entrepreneurs have faced at some point. I definitely went through a period of imposter syndrome and wondering if what I was doing was the correct path for me. I feel its necessary to experience that because this means you are moving out of your comfort zone and in order to grow in both a personal and professional aspect. I also did not have the amazing community I have now when I first started and it has truly made all the difference. Another struggle I faced was that I was unsure of where exactly I wanted to go on my entrepreneurial journey. All I knew is that I wanted to run my own business and that I wanted to have an online presence. It took me a little to realize how good I was at creating strategies for small businesses and brands, drafting content topics and calendars, creating the content and reading the statistics to help grow and expand reach.

We’ve been impressed with KetsiaYahaira Media, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My friends call me their Social Media Bestie, because I am quiet literally a nerd when it comes down to it. I love everything that has to do with social media, the creativity, the strategy, and the statistics behind it all! I have a passion for creating strategies, content and reading statistics. I honesty lose myself in the numbers and feel like the little meme where all the formulas are floating around the guys head because I can imagine what needs to be created and done in order to improve the page’s insights.

What sets me apart from others? ME! lol. I love to just be myself, creative, goofy, nerdy, and overall fun! All these “big marketing companies” don’t really give the client the attention they truly deserve. For me my clients are not just a number, they are genuine people I create a connection with, I see the sweat, tears and effort behind every entrepreneur. I want to see them win as well. Because the honest truth is the table is big enough for all of us to sit and feast!

I am proud that I am authentically me 100% of the time. What you see/get on a strategy call is the same person you get if you were to invite me out to dinner or a party. I made sure when creating my brand to incorporate who I am. I did not want to come off one way online or use an “aesthetic” that did not truly highlight who Ketsia is. My clients and friends all say the same thing once they have connected with me and that is that they love the way that I am, the attention to detail, that I listen to their wants and needs as opposed to pushing the “current standards” down their throats. I would say this is my biggest flex.

I try to be a one stop shop when it comes to social media! I take pride in my work and knowledge. I can help any type of business, small or big to improve their social media presence, growth and engagement, even starting from scratch. I get to know my clients, as well as their wants and needs. Throughout this process I teach my clients along the way what needs to be done for their pages with my social media audits and strategy packages. If there is something I may not be sure about because I have not encountered it before…. give me 24 hours and you better believe I will have the answer for you.
Another thing I would say sets me apart, is that I host workshops to help small business owners who may not be sure or ready to heavily invest into their business yet learn the basics in understanding how to ready their insights and what they should keep an eye out for. I put my heart into these workshops/mini classes because I truly do care.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I’m a simple DM away!! I love meeting new people and being able to create amazing connections! I believe supporting and collaborating with one another is so important!
