Hi Krisia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Here’s a little about me! I was born in New York City and spent most of my childhood in Manhattan. I grew up enjoying the skyline views, riding around NYC with my MetroCard, eating real pizza, and falling in love with the city I call home. Growing up in New York City made it possible to have access to an excellent education, educators, and schools. In school, I always volunteered to help tutor other students and help the schools out in any way possible. With a passion for education, I received a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development from Florida International University. I enjoyed teaching Kindergarten and ESL (English as a Second Language).
In 2015, I took a candle-making class and purchased my domain immediately. I have always wanted a business allowing me to donate to water charities. An issue close to my heart is the water crisis, specifically how it impacts millions of people across the globe. Water is a necessity for everyone, yet it remains a luxury to many people worldwide. This led me to work with WaterAid, a non-profit organization that transforms lives by improving access to clean water, hygiene, and sanitation in the world’s poorest communities. When you buy a candle, 5% of profits are donated to WaterAid, allowing you to be a part of something big. About W Candle Company, In 2021, I officially launched my business. I wanted to specialize in oversized luxury candles perfect for larger spaces and open-concept floor plans.
Would it have been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Increasing Brand Awareness. We have worked hard to continue to grow our brand through local markets (winter garden, celebration, Dr. Phillips, Lakeland, etc.). We stay true to our brand and source everything in North America. Our coconut wax comes from Canada, fragrance oils from California, and large jars from Ohio. We also strive to be as eco-friendly as possible, Using eco-friendly shipping materials, Biodegradable, 100% plastic-free packaging.

We specialize in oversized luxury candles perfect for larger spaces and open-concept floor plans. The luxury candles feature three wicks and offer approximately 240 hours of exceptional scent. About W Candle Company, In 2021, I officially launched my business. I wanted to specialize in oversized luxury candles perfect for larger spaces and open-concept floor plans.
My approach to candles:
Master perfumer scents: We use phthalate-free, paraben-free, toxin-free, and vegan fragrance oils that are unique, sophisticated, and created using fine fragrance oils + pure essential oils from around the world.
Scent throw: Our candles are filled with an 11% fragrance load (higher than most), and our coconut wax makes the most of every ounce.
Glass: We chose our candle vessels to fit any space and to be easy to repurpose. The jar’s alluring shape and beautiful Acacia wood lid create a warm, inviting display appeal at home. The thick side walls create added durability and stability.
Reusable: This clear glass jar features a wide mouth opening for easy access and scooping, making the jar perfect for storing flour, sugar, or cereal on the countertop or in the pantry. The snug-fitting lids are designed with a silicone ring for a tight seal to help keep food fresh and moisture free. The food-grade glass is non-toxic, odorless, and 100% BPA Free. Coconut wax: We use sustainable coconut wax for a clean and complete burn. Coconut wax is created from the cold-pressed meat of coconuts; it’s obtained via natural processes and boasts a clean burn that we are proud of!
