Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Woodman.
Hi Kristen, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I often joke that I fell into the real estate industry by mistake. Growing up, I had many ideas about what my career could look like, and I ultimately chose to pursue a degree in Business Management at UCF. At 21, I graduated and began searching for my next big career step. That’s when I came across an intriguing job posting that led to a phone interview, several more interviews, and eventually joining a team at a large real estate company as their Executive Assistant. Little did I know that first phone call would change the trajectory of my life and career.
I was brand new to the industry—I knew almost nothing. I vividly remember my second day on the job, after hours of training, when I had to stop and ask, “What is a listing agent? What is a buyer’s agent?”
I was fortunate to spend more than five years with that team, during which I grew and learned immensely. As the Executive Assistant, I became fluent not only in real estate transactions and contracts but also in customer service, client retention, event planning, marketing, budgeting, and business tracking. I transitioned from attending classes to teaching them and leading group masterminds.
I am forever grateful to my team and all the real estate agents and professionals I met along the way. The opportunity to attend trainings and conferences and network with some of the greatest innovators in our industry has propelled me to where I am today. This journey has not only fostered my professional growth but has also contributed to my personal development. I gained confidence in myself and built many meaningful relationships.
My favorite aspect of the role was always transaction management, which I liken to being a small-scale project manager. I was responsible for overseeing the contract process, managing multiple deadlines, and coordinating various parties to ensure a successful closing. Ultimately, in 2019, I decided to expand this passion on a larger scale by founding White Glove Transactions, where I could offer my expertise and services to some of the best agents across not just Central Florida, but all of Florida.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Growing any business isn’t easy. In the beginning, I started with a blank slate and no clientele. I created the company out of a deep passion for what I do, and I wanted that love to be reflected in the name, branding, and services I offered. There’s always that fear of “What if I fail?” and I had to balance that with “But what if I succeed?”
Over time, my business began to grow organically. I quickly realized I needed to leverage help to maintain the same level of white glove service my clients had come to expect. Taking the next step to hire others can be daunting; those fears resurface, and the “what-ifs” now affect not just me but others as well. Growth is both a wonderful and scary experience. I’ve learned so much about myself through each milestone, and I continue to embrace new challenges as they come.
