Today we’d like to introduce you to Krysta Schroeder.
Hi Krysta, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have always known that I wanted to help others in my profession, that looked differently throughout the years, first wanting to be a lawyer, then a doctor, and eventually settling into becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Choosing to pursue my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work was a simple choice after I realized how much of my personal values aligned with that of a social worker. The work felt enjoyable and challenging at the same time which was a good fit for me personally.
I started my career in healthcare, working at various pediatric hospitals and specialty care clinics in Central Florida. Healthcare is by far one of my greatest passions and I never envisioned myself leaving that specific field of social work, that is until I became a mom.
After the birth of my son, I realized that I needed a bit more flexibility in my schedule, which led me to opening my therapy practice, Harlowe Counseling. This transition was exactly what I needed, professionally and personally. My practice specializes in helping women and teen girls live their best lives, overcome their anxieties, and be the best version of themselves.
I can truly say that I have found a passion that not only helps my greater community but lets me personally live a life I could only of imagined in years past.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Starting any small business is a big undertaking, choosing to start a small business as a new mom in the middle of the pandemic… slightly more difficult.
I would say the biggest struggle was learning new information about marketing, website design, social media, and implementing all of this new knowledge while my seven months old was taking his naps and sleeping at night. I never had envisioned owning a small business nor could I even comprehend what it truly would take to make it successful until I threw myself into the deep end and taught myself how to make it happen.

Harlowe Counseling is a therapy practice that specializes in providing the Women and Teen Girls of Central Florida with a safe space to share and work through their anxieties, goals, and life transitions.
We are most known for our work with perinatal and postpartum women as they transition from pregnancy into motherhood.
What truly sets us apart from other therapy practices is our work specifically with women and teen girls. We are a group of women working to better the women in our community.
In regards to our services, we offer individual, family, couple, and parenting therapy. Each client will complete a complimentary consultation and be assigned a therapist best suited for their needs.
