Today we’d like to introduce you to Mario Zendeli.
Hi Mario, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Looking back, my journey in becoming a Real Estate Broker all started over one Christmas break when I unknowingly spent thousands of dollars in gifts and other pointless purchases that added up very quickly during the holiday. Come January, I was looking at my bank account and wondered, what happened? At that point I decided to hand over all but $100 each week to my mother, which might sound silly, but clearly I was not capable enough to handle my own finances at that time.
Within a span of 14 months after doing this, I had saved enough to buy my first 2 apartments. This was back in 2010 when real estate was a lot cheaper, giving me the opportunity to afford my first investment property at a great price. At that time I wondered if Real Estate was my calling. I thought about it over the next year and after getting laid off from the airport job I had, I decided it was time to pursue Real Estate full time.
Throughout the following years after making this decision, I have been able to help hundreds of families buy and sell homes but more importantly build wealth through Real Estate. Zen Real Estate Co. is the company I have built to further pursue my dream of practicing Real Estate with the consumer in mind.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely been a journey to get where I am today, but the reality is that any struggles of the past have made me fearless about the future. Since it’s one of the most challenging career paths you can choose, Real Estate started off slow for me. I’ve had to learn about the industry from the bottom up, and my goal is to continue to increase my knowledge and grow my presence within this industry further.
One of the challenges in Real Estate I learned early on is that being social to build your client sphere is not enough to cut it in this industry. You have to get creative and dedicate a lot of resources to improve your client reach and nurture your existing relationships considering the competition you’re faced with.
Due to easy barriers to enter into this industry, many people think you can just get your license and your phone will start ringing, and that couldn’t be further from the truth. And being disappointed by the expectation that your friends and family will use you as their agent might be one of the greatest hardship lessons for someone that’s just starting out, it certainly was for me. Through that though you learn that nothing comes easy and that you should appreciate those who cherish your success, but also to always continue to push hard to earn people’s trust in your work, even from those you might be close with and think would use your services.
I wouldn’t be here today if I didn’t have a clear plan in mind about my future. At the very least, I believe you should have a rough draft of a blueprint showing where you want to be 1, 5, and 10 years from now. You need to know where you want to land so you can reverse engineer the path. Although I wasted a bit of time in college trying to find my calling, I wasted no time knowing where I want to be when it comes to Real Estate.
I’ve learned that you don’t have to win every day, you will eventually burn out and crash, but you can win a month or even a year, and as long as you have more winning days than losing ones you will be alright.
We’ve been impressed with Zen Real Estate Co., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I created Zen Real Estate Co. to deliver Real Estate services that put people first, keeping the client in mind at all times. We operate on our core values of people, passion, and experience. To us, Real estate is so much more than buying or selling a house. It’s about the families that will make memories and turn houses into homes. It’s about the kids and the schools they will attend. It’s about the parents and making sure that life is made just that much easier by having the right home to best suit them. And, it’s about making sure that you get the best value of your home when it’s time to move on to the next. All of these elements go beyond simply buying or selling a home, and are parts of the quality of life we hope to help people achieve.
We truly love what we do and we want that to show that with each and every transaction. We are passionate about Real Estate and the people that we help because the right home can bring you a greater quality of life, tax benefits, and also financial independence through investing. We want to make sure that our client’s next move is the right one.
We believe that having a true professional with over 10 years of experience to guide you through the home buying or selling process can be the difference between a smooth or rocky transaction. We are fortunate to have helped 100’s of families move through the years, and truth be told, you learn something new every day, even from your worst deals. With that in mind, the Zen team brings our expertise to work for our clients so that the deal is as smooth as it can be.
Zen agents are serving the Seminole County, FL metro area. We have a proven track record of getting results quickly, and keeping a direct line of communication open at all times through every step of the way for our clients. We are proud to be known for our outstanding service, and this is what we like to call the “Zen Experience.” We provide many resources and solutions for first time home buyers, offer complete marketing solutions for sellers, and also offer property management services.
What are your plans for the future?
In the future, I want to continue to grow my current team of agents with like minded individuals that can support the demand of this industry. One of the goals is to create a team of people within Zen that are willing to put in the work, reap the rewards, and also have fun while doing it.
I would also like to build homes to help alleviate the current shortage of inventory.
And continuing to develop ways to give back, support, and connect with the community not only through real estate, but also through hosting and participation in more community events, donations, and development projects.
