Community Highlights: Meet Mohammed Khattari of Grace Dental

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mohammed Khattari

Hi Mohammed, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After completing my Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in 2015, I spent several years working in a variety of dental settings, gaining valuable experience across different practices. During that time, I focused heavily on continuing education (CE) to stay updated on the latest techniques and innovations in the field, ensuring I could offer the best possible care to my patients.

With all the knowledge and experience I gained, I eventually felt ready to take the next step in my career. I decided to open my own dental practice, where I could put my vision and values into practice. I knew it would be a challenging journey, but the idea of creating a space where patients could receive high-quality, compassionate care really motivated me.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, and there were several challenges along the way. Starting my own dental practice came with a steep learning curve—with the clinical aspect being the least of my worries, in managing a business. I had to learn quickly how to balance the administrative aspects with patient care, from handling finances to understanding insurance, staffing, and marketing.

There were also the inevitable moments of self-doubt and uncertainty, especially when things didn’t go as planned. I remember some tough days when the patient flow wasn’t what I expected, and I questioned whether I had made the right decision. But those struggles became opportunities for growth. I sought advice from mentors, leaned on my continuing education, and kept refining my approach.

And of course, there were always the typical bumps in the road—unexpected expenses, hiring and training the right team, and finding ways to maintain work-life balance. But with perseverance, a lot of hard work, and the support of my community, I’ve been able to navigate those hurdles and keep moving forward.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My dental practice is built on the foundation of providing personalized, high-quality care in a comfortable and welcoming environment. We focus on treating each patient like family, listening to their concerns, and tailoring treatment plans to meet their unique needs. While we offer a full range of general dentistry services, what sets us apart is our commitment to combining advanced techniques with a compassionate approach.

We specialize in comprehensive dental care, with a particular emphasis on implant and restorative dentistry. Whether it’s a simple procedure like a dental filling or more complex restorations like full mouth implant rehabilitation, we’re known to our patients for our attention to detail and our ability to bring out the best in their smiles. We take pride in utilizing the latest technology and staying on top of industry trends through continuing education, so we’re always offering the most effective and up-to-date treatments.

What truly sets us apart, however, is the patient experience. From the moment patients walk through our doors, we want them to feel at ease. We aim to make each visit stress-free and enjoyable—because dental visits don’t have to be intimidating! Our friendly, highly trained staff and I make it a priority to ensure everyone feels cared for every step of the way.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the reputation I’ve built for creating long-term relationships with our patients. I’ve cultivated a loyal patient base, many of whom have been with me since I moved to the Orlando area. We also pride ourselves on transparency, which helps build trust with our patients. Whether it’s explaining a procedure in detail or providing clear financial options, our patients always know exactly what to expect.

Above all, I want readers to know that at our practice, you’re not just another patient—you’re part of our community. We’re here to support your oral health journey, whether it’s routine care or more advanced treatments. Our goal is to give you a reason to smile every time you leave our office!

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always curious and eager to learn. I used to read my school books cover to cover in the beginning of the school year then go through my older siblings’ school books. I loved going with my family to the local public library where you could always find me anywhere except the children’s section.

Being always the tallest among my peers I developed interest in basketball. I competed in national championship and made the Jordanian under 18 national team. After that my basketball career turned into a hobby because I had to dedicate most of my time to college and dental school.

Personality-wise, I was the type of person who enjoyed spending time with people—whether it was hanging out with friends and family or helping others in my community. At the same time I do enjoy some “me time”! I find it necessary to disconnect at times to reflect on the past and plan for the future.
