Community Highlights: Meet Pablo Lopez of P&R Cab Designer Inc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pablo Lopez.

Hi Pablo, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Our story began in 2018, when my father decided to take a leap of faith after more than 20 years working as an elevator tradesman. He first learned the trade as a young man, working for a family friend’s company, one with which we are still proud to partner today. Initially, our projects were small, but we focused on completing every job with care and precision.

Through dedication, resilience, and refusal to cut corners, we made it through challenges including the uncertainty of COVID. Today, we’re blessed to see our work trusted on multiple projects, we’re proud of our roots, grateful for every opportunity, and excited to keep growing, expanding our services, and bringing fresh ideas to the industry we love.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but every challenge has shaped who we are as a company. In the early days, one of our biggest hurdles was sourcing the right materials to achieve the level of quality we expect for our clients. We also needed to invest in the right machinery to help us increase production without sacrificing attention to detail, something that took time and resources to build. In the beginning, steady work was hard to come by, but we kept pushing forward. Today, by the grace of God, our biggest challenge is finding enough hours in the day to complete the projects we have, and that’s a problem we’re grateful to have.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about P&R Cab Designer Inc?
P&R Cab Designers Inc. specializes in custom elevator cab renovations. We are also partnered with exceptional companies that manufacture high-quality residential elevators and wheelchair lifts, which we install and maintain. Although we are not yet a dedicated parts supplier, we possess in-house capabilities to manufacture elevator parts and fabricate supplies as needed.

With over 20 years of industry experience, we combine craftsmanship, innovation, and attention to detail to handle anything elevator-related with precision and care. We are proud members of the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) and proudly support Orlando Local 139, standing alongside other skilled tradespeople who share our commitment to excellence.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
We’re risk-takers, but our approach is calculated. We’ve found that taking the right risks at the right time can open doors to opportunities that wouldn’t exist otherwise. One recent example was investing in our new Bodor CNC machine. It was a significant commitment, but it’s already paying off by allowing us to produce highly detailed work faster and more efficiently. For us, risk and opportunity go hand in hand; you can’t grow without stepping out of your comfort zone, and we believe in betting on our ability to deliver.
