Community Highlights: Meet Rosie Moore of JRM Nurse Consultants

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosie Moore.

Hi Rosie , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story began not in a boardroom or on a stage, but in a hospital room—where I witnessed firsthand the power of life, love, and advocacy. As a nurse with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and certifications in legal and functional medicine, I’ve dedicated much of my life to serving others through healthcare. But it wasn’t until I became the mother of a premature baby that my personal and professional worlds collided in a way that forever changed my path.

That experience inspired me to found The Gift of Life, a nonprofit that supports parents of premature and medically fragile babies. What started as a way to help families in the NICU turned into a full-scale movement of education, resources, and hope. We remind families that even the tiniest lives can leave the biggest impact.

Along the way, I began writing—first to heal, then to empower others. Today I’m the author of multiple books, from fiction that brings awareness to domestic abuse, to children’s stories that ignite imagination and belief, and educational toolkits for families and healthcare professionals.

As Ms. World Universal Elite 2021–2022, I had the honor of representing women globally through a platform that celebrates diversity, leadership, and service. While my reign has officially concluded, I continue to serve as a proud alumna of the system—mentoring women, participating in community initiatives, and using my voice to inspire change.

Through my initiative Empowering Girls and Women, I serve women of all ages—from young girls discovering their worth to women rebuilding after hardship. I help them rise above comparison, embrace their purpose, and lead with faith and confidence. Whether I’m speaking at events, guiding injured workers through functional healing, or comforting a NICU parent in crisis, my message remains the same: you were created for more, and you are never alone.

Each chapter of my life—from nurse to nonprofit founder, author, advocate, and titleholder—has taught me that even in the hardest moments, beauty can rise. And with faith, courage, and community, we can all become the person we were created to be.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has definitely not been smooth. Like many women, I faced infertility and the emotional toll that comes with it. Doctors gave little hope, but I clung to faith—and in time, God, the ultimate healer, proved them wrong.

Just when things were coming together, I faced one of the greatest heartbreaks of my life: I lost my father unexpectedly in 2019. It shattered me. He was my biggest cheerleader, and I never got to say goodbye. Grief overwhelmed me to the point that I didn’t want to write anymore. I wanted to leave the pageant system. I even questioned continuing my charity work.

But God, in His goodness, brought people into my life to lift me up. Nancy-Ellen, my director for Ms. World Universal, became a second cheerleader—alongside my loving husband Marcus. She encouraged me to continue, to honor my father by representing him as Ms. Puerto Rico. I had a village behind me, beside me, and in front of me. But most of all, I had God.

With renewed strength, I focused on my purpose: using my voice and visibility to bring awareness to The Gift of Life. Even my autograph cards were designed with my photo on the front and The Gift of Life details on the back—because I never wanted the focus to be just on me, but on the mission. I wanted people to remember what I stood for.

That year, I also lost 50 pounds and became healthier—mind, body, and spirit. A fun bit of trivia: my pageant gown, custom-designed by Yubin, had the words “The Gift of Life” secretly embroidered inside the front hem. It was my way of keeping God first and the mission right behind Him. One of the judges happened to see it after the competition and was deeply moved.

And then there were the red shoes—custom-designed for me by my dear friend Angela Nuran. She’s gifted me with many beautiful pairs over the years, always asking what I was wearing and matching each outfit perfectly. But those red shoes held a deeper meaning. They reminded me of The Wizard of Oz, when Glinda tells Dorothy:

“You’ve always had the power, my dear. You just had to learn it for yourself.”

Wearing those shoes reminded me that I, too, always had the power—not in myself, but in the ability to go before God and ask for His help. To ask Him to help me shine—not for my own glory, but as an example to other women and girls that when we believe and have faith, miracles truly do happen.

Even now, I still quietly share my autograph cards wherever I go—at restaurants, events, even in passing. I call it leaving a little sparkle. I never hand them out to draw attention to myself. I leave them behind intentionally—so that if someone picks it up, the light is directed not to me, but to The Gift of Life.

One time, we were celebrating my husband’s birthday at a Polish restaurant. As we were leaving, the owner ran outside waving the card. He was deeply moved and said, “A celebrity in my place—I’m so honored!” He even asked me to sign it. I smiled and signed, but gently told him: “God is the celebrity here. The card is about the mission.”

He was truly humbled to have us there—but the truth is, I was the one humbled to have the chance to share what I do and to remind someone else of the value of life, faith, and compassion.

We’ve been impressed with JRM Nurse Consultants, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The name of my business is JRM Nurse Consultants.

At JRM Nurse Consultants, we specialize in nurse consulting and case management services focused on functional medicine, injury recovery, and navigating complex workers’ compensation cases. Our goal is to help injured workers and patients find the root causes of their health challenges, optimize healing, and achieve a safe and sustainable return to work.

What sets us apart is the integration of traditional nursing expertise with functional medicine principles—looking beyond symptoms to address the whole person’s physical, emotional, and environmental factors. This holistic approach allows us to develop truly individualized care plans that support long-term health and quality of life.

We are also known for our compassionate communication and advocacy, guiding clients through often overwhelming healthcare and insurance systems while empowering them to be informed, confident participants in their own care.

Brand-wise, I am most proud that JRM Nurse Consultants stands for integrity, empathy, and innovation in nursing consultation. We don’t just provide services—we build trusted partnerships with clients, families, employers, and healthcare providers to achieve the best outcomes.

In addition to consulting, we offer educational resources such as patient toolkits, workshops, and speaking engagements that extend our mission beyond individual cases to community awareness and empowerment.

I want readers to know that at JRM Nurse Consultants, we are dedicated to transforming the way healthcare and injury recovery are experienced—making it more personalized, hopeful, and effective. Whether through direct consultation or advocacy, we walk alongside each client on their journey toward healing and renewed purpose

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about Windermere is its charming small-town feel. It offers the perfect balance of convenience and peace—everything I need: shopping, places to exercise, and my church—is close by, yet the suburb maintains a quiet, welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. Plus, I have the best neighbors who have been here for years, creating a true sense of community and warmth.

What I like least is the traffic congestion during rush hours, especially the backups trying to get on the highway. It can be frustrating. Also, late at night, some drivers don’t respect the speed limits and engage in dangerous racing and revving. As a nurse and advocate for safety, this deeply concerns me because it puts everyone at risk. Safety is always a top priority for me, both personally and professionally.
