
Today we’d like to introduce you to Shadow Anderson.
Hi Shadow, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I began in the industry in 2010 on the photography side of weddings and slowly realized that my passion wasn’t photos but the people in the photos. My path in wedding planning began in 2014 when I transitioned from admin to wedding planner for one of the top firms in Orlando, FL. I like to say I didn’t choose wedding planning. It chose me! To be honest, I was a terrible admin, and thankfully, I had a boss who saw something else in me. I can’t sit still for too long, so naturally, the quick momentum of wedding days had me hooked. Client relationships and a solution-driven attitude quickly became my strong suits.
In 2019, I opened my own wedding planning firm here in Central Florida with the support of family, close friends and industry colleagues. I never thought I would be a small business owner, but I chased my passion, and I couldn’t be happier on a personal note, I am a spunky gal who loves hard and is always on the go with coffee in hand. I am married to my college sweetheart and we are parents to three little ones. When I am not obsessing over pretty details and problem solving, you can find me having a Game Night at home, brunch with my girls or at my happy place, Disney World!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A lot of lessons learned for sure! I believe past mistakes have made me a better wedding planner and have pushed me to master what I do. This career isn’t for the faint of heart, so being able to recognize a failure and taking action to correct it goes a long way. 2020 definitely threw all of us in this industry one curveball after another! As a business owner with a company less than a year old, I was terrified. The wedding community was there for me, and I found others in my same position. It gave me hope. I choose to always cheer on those around me and to keep my mindset focused.

The Chaos Coordinator Events and Design is a full-service Orlando-based wedding planning company. We specialize in creating events that are authentic and reflect your personal style. A couple of things that set us apart is the bond and trust created with each of our couples. We believe in honest feedback and making sure our couples know we have their best interest at heart. We intentionally limit the amount of weddings in order to fully focus on the event and give the best client services possible.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I would say my over preparedness, loyalty and connection. These all go hand in hand for me in my personal and professional life!
