Hi Shania, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi my name is Nia and I started out doing T-shirts and masks which became time consuming so I said to myself what else can I sell that’s fast and easy so I reached out to a vendor after doing some research and I order bonnets and Durags and they sold very quickly so I said let me add some simple cute sets and I placed an order for some cute 2 piece sets and onesie and my customers loved them and from there I decided to purchase more clothing sets and I took off from there.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I can honestly say it hasn’t been easy when your running your business especially at the beginning you are taking chances with products customers may not like or purchase. Also marketing and trying to get your name out there publicly to gain exposure for potential clients it takes a lot of hard work and dedication.
You learn as you go.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a Boutique Owner I sell a variety of products including clothing for kids ladies and also men’s. I love being able to provide affordable yet cute items for my customers. What sets me apart from others is that I enjoy selling clothes I love meeting new people some of my customers have become very close friends I consider them to be apart of my family because without them I wouldn’t be able to run a successful business. I’m proud of myself for overcoming obstacles that I didn’t know existed I intend on being known worldwide and being successful.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
In any business you definitely are a risk taker, I’ve taken a few risks and sometimes they are lessons learned.
Being a entrepreneur and running a boutique sometimes your packages get delayed or seized you may place a order and the quality may not be good enough to sell to your customers so you just have to do your research and find a better solution.
