Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Lopez.
Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up as a high-achieving perfectionist who always had a million things on my plate. As I moved through my younger years, through my education, and into my career, I always had this feeling that something was missing and I wasn’t totally happy. Back in October 2013, while I was working as an Organizational Development Advisor at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, I took a five day workshop called The Human Element. It absolutely changed my life. It changed how I dealt with my emotions, it changed how I felt about myself, and it changed how I interacted with my co-workers, family, and friends. And it changed the way I would parent my future children. From that moment, I knew that I was meant to spread what I learned to as many people as possible. I didn’t know how I would achieve that though, so I continued working at NASA for another seven years.
After having my second baby in March 2020 and hitting an all-time low after being isolated from the world during a very trying stage in my life, I decided it was time that I open up my own business and pursue my passion. In June 2020, I started an Instagram page called @best.self.mama targeted at guiding high-achieving mamas to be their best selves. I guide these women using my signature self-discovery process, The BRAVE Method.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Opening my own business has been far more difficult than I anticipated. I now give SO MUCH respect to other entrepreneurs. Owning my own business required me to master new skills that I had never considered mastering in the past: Finance, Sales, and Marketing to name a few. There were many times that I felt like I was failing. There were many times that I felt like I wasn’t cut out for this journey. There were many times that I wanted to quit. I pushed through the fears and reminded myself that success doesn’t happen overnight.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The BRAVE Method, LLC. (recently purchased by Gallaher Edge, LLC.)?
I am an Organizational Psychologist and Executive Coach. I specialize in mindset and communication coaching for high-achieving moms. I am known for creating a humbling, comfortable, supportive, and safe environment where I guide women to have major insights and breakthroughs about the patterns in their lives that have been holding them back for years. My clients have reported experiencing major shifts in their professional and personal relationships. Before coaching with me, they often feel overwhelmed, anxious, and frustrated. After I guide them through my self-discovery process, they report feeling more internal peace, joy, happiness, and confidence. I am most proud of the breakthroughs I’m able to guide my clients through. They often report being skeptical before working with me and are pleasantly surprised how quickly their mindset and perspective shifts. What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson that I’ve learned along my journey is that it can feel absolutely terrifying to sit with my big emotions. However, as I’ve worked to develop the capacity to do that more and more, incredible things have happened in my life. I feel more alive, happy, and at peace now more than ever! I’m certain you can do it too. The best way to become a better version of yourself is to face your emotions.
