Hi Suhail, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I immigrated to this country in 2015 with a clear goal in mind: to continually improve my circumstances year after year. Despite facing initial challenges as a housekeeper with limited English proficiency, I remained committed to my ambitions. Through perseverance and dedication, I became a fluent English speaker and eventually ascended to the position of General Manager at a Hilton property. My journey began with a passion for accounting, which I cultivated during high school. This interest led me to pursue a bookkeeping course in Venezuela while working towards a degree in Finance. Though my path took unexpected turns upon arriving in this new country, my determination to pursue a career aligned with my passions never vanished. Moreover, my experiences have also inspired me to expand my professional horizons further. Recognizing the importance of taxation, I have undertaken additional training and preparation to become a certified tax preparer.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not having my family by my side and facing financial constraints have presented obstacles. There were moments when these factors weighed heavily on me, and I found myself grappling with feelings of uncertainty and discouragement.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
