Today we’d like to introduce you to Supreme Visuals.
Hello, Supreme Visuals; please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Josh Sanon:
I’m originally from Lake Worth, Florida, and I moved to Orlando in mid-2020. I have always been involved with creative endeavors, mostly music and photography. I knew once I moved here to Orlando that I would need to get serious about what I wanted to do with my life. I decided to hone my skills in photography because I knew focused energy would get me where I needed to go. At that point, Mark (our videographer) and I were approached by Adler, our CEO, about being a part of the Supreme Visuals collective. Adler deemed it so because he saw that we both have an entrepreneurial and creative spirit, so we received his blessing to do great things with this creative platform, which led us here to this point.
Mark Alfred:
Born and raised in Delray Beach, Florida, the fifth of six children, I picked up my first camera in junior high school. I devoted most of my time to take pictures of family and friends for a couple of months and even created a photography page for it. But it would soon be shut down because family members suggested no demand or market for taking pictures, so I decided to put the camera down. Fast-forward to mid-2020, my cousin Adler, the CEO, decided to pass down the company to me and our photographer Josh, which would soon change our lives and look at photography and videography through a different lens.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
JS: We’ve faced challenges thus far, such as allocating the right amount of time to building our brand and creating something unique for people to enjoy. Seeing as how we still have our regular jobs, it does get tough making sure that we are giving this movement the right amount of attention. There was also a struggle as we tried to carve out our identity. What we wanted to do with this, so we were looking for any and every opportunity to shoot whatever, whenever, like sports, birthday parties, portraits, you name it. For some folks who were starting, we needed to get out there and shoot as much as possible. Still, we understood that we needed a niche and specific style for ourselves, and we have settled on something that we enjoy and, hopefully, the people want.
As you know, we’re big fans of Supreme Visuals, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Supreme Visuals was founded in 2016. We are a Photography & Videography business specializing in portrait photography that is stylized in a magazine form, allowing our clients to “grace our cover,” if you will. What sets us apart is that we have a deep love for streetwear and urban fashion, alongside our love for vintage aesthetics and fashion that we may have seen in the 90s. What makes us proud as a brand is that we see this as more than just a business but a movement many can follow. One of our biggest inspirations as a movement was the Wu-Tang Clan and how everyone had a unique style that they brought to the table, one of the many things that made them iconic. We want the readers of the Orlando Voyager to know that when you shoot with Supreme Visuals, you are the center of attention. We want our clients to feel comfortable and confident in themselves, so when they look back at these images, it creates a feeling and a memory that will live on forever. We at Supreme Visuals have recently included a Grad Pack for those graduating soon and will begin doing Supreme Mini Sessions with different themes going forward. For those looking to book a session with us. Please reach out to us on Instagram @Supremevisuals4 or visit our website at www.supremevisuals.net.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.?
Since our business is social media based, we are always getting ideas from Instagram and Pinterest to create mood boards for our upcoming shoots. It allows the creative process to flow, and we always bring the best out of us. YouTube is also a resource we use heavily (we call it YouTube University) if we get stuck or are trying to find the best way to bring our visions to life. strobist.blogspot.com has also helped us understand the mechanics of off-camera flash photography.
