Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzi Hosfeld

Hi SUZI, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started modeling at age 11, as I was 5’9″. Working with Wilhelimina Agency in NY, I did fashion shows, print work and tv commercials. I’m from Milwaukee and my Wisconsin agent suggested I register for the Miss Wisconsin USA pageant as it was a way for models to work in anotger area. In 1982 I was 4th runner up and was bitten by the pageant bug. I had done teen pageants and fair pageants but nothing big. Then I went back in 1983 and WON!

In 1983 I was Miss Wisconsin USA and as soon as I came back from Miss USA I started my modeling agency and coaching business. There were no coaches back then and many pageant girls were not models. We became a huge agency placing models all over the world and in major TV, Movie and print campaigns.

We grew into our coaching division and soon became State Directors for some of the largest national pageants.
Then 10 years ago we were asked to take over the MIss Global USA franchise, in those 10 years, our Miss USA has placed top 20, top 10 and 4th runner up every year! NO other franchise has been that successful!

And last year we were asked to take over the Miss Intercontinental USA franchise and our fabulous 1st year titleholder, Kenyatta Beazer was 5th runnerup! And she took the Miss North America Title at the Miss Intercontinental Pageant in Egypt. Again…in our 1st year! We are super excited this year to officially again, take the Miss Intercontinental USA franchise reigns. Cannot wait to see who registers for the July 28-August 1st pagant.

We have won the I nternational pageant of the Year for 2 years and International Director of the year for 3. And we are again nominated for International Director of the year.

Our agency has now moved into more commercial work as that is where the models make great money, and we specialize in TV and print.

I have started my own systems…Miss Universal Global pageants, which is an all age pageant going from state to National to International levels and just this year started the Miss Legends International. We are hoping to take this pageant to a higher level riviling Miss Universe!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I laugh at that question…when I started my modeling agency, most agents were male so I was told to go back to modeling. No one thought we could do what we did. Now, most agencies are owned by women!
The pageant business was tough to learn, who you could trust, who were good/great partners etc. sponsors etc. I just learned to do it myself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Envy Pageant productions Inc. is the mother division for all our pageants and modeling agency. Miss Universal Global, Miss Legends International, Miss Global USA, MIss Intercontinental USA and Envy Models and Talent.

We are known for our personal attention to all. From the kiddos in modeling and pageantry to my guys and gals in their 70’s. We return calls within 3 minutes, emails immediatly and never take a real vacation!

I am most proud of the contestants and models that we represent. They all have heart and soul, are kind and assist each other.

I want pageant girls and models to understand we work hard, giving 110% to each of them, but we expect them to give 110% to their careers and titles! Nothing is easy.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
No time to read but I do believe in Treating People the way You Wish to be Treated. You can’t go wrong in life with that!
