Hi Temperance, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I developed a passion for makeup at the age of 21. I’ve learned from the YouTube industry and became a self-taught makeup artist. I started out applying makeup on close friends and family. They contributed to my journey and helped shape me into the dynamic makeup artist that I am today. I fell in love with the idea of feeling beautiful and confident. That’s when I knew I wanted others to feel just as beautiful. Fast forward to the year 2021, and I’ve become a certified makeup artist and a licensed esthetician.
I was determined to be an all-around makeup artist. I wanted people to respect my business as much as I did. I started investing in myself by creating a website, business cards, and marketing ads, attending seminars and building my kits with the best high-end products.
I then branched into the bridal industry offering mobile services. I have now serviced several clients within the state of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina. I am now in the process of hiring assistants to work alongside me for this growing business. The Glam Effect is an inclusive brand that intentionally services many races and backgrounds. I’m grateful for the many opportunities that have been presented to me and are still to come!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The most challenging aspect of being an entrepreneur is the lack of resources and support you may receive in the beginning. I’ve been discouraged many days in my line of business.
We’ve been impressed with The Glam Effect, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Glam Effect is founded by Temperance Wooden based in North Florida. Temperance is a certified makeup artist and a licensed esthetician. The Glam Effect offers many services such as makeup lessons, makeup sessions, bridal special events, and brow waxing services. We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
My favorite childhood memory was being at my late grandmother’s house surrounded by family. I grew up playing basketball, kickball, board games, and eating good food! I just love times when everyone around you is living carefree and happily!
