Today we’d like to introduce you to Terlyn Davis
Hi Terlyn, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The love for doing hair started when I was a child. My earliest memory was when I was in 6th grade, I would do my classmates and family members hair. I continued to do their hair as a passion of mine throughout middle and high school. Upon graduating high school I entered the medical field, after several years in the medical field I went back to my first love, doing hair. I started Cosmetology school and upon completing Cosmetology school I entered my first professional setting in a salon. In 2017, I attended a hair show that included sessions from celebrity hairstylists from all races and ethnicities. I learned an abundance of information and techniques on how to blend and disguise thinning and hair loss. This was very intriguing which prompted me to do further research. Upon doing my research I discovered a sufficient number of people dealing with various forms of hair loss from different medical diagnosis. I furthered my studies by attending a hair loss specialty training to advance my knowledge and understanding of how to support individuals experiencing hair thinning and loss. In this specialty training I learned about genetics, hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, stress, and medical conditions that contributes to hair loss and thinning. In this training I also learned about Cranial Prosthesis. Upon completing that training I took a more in-depth study on Cranial Prosthesis and this is what has lead me to where I am today, Artisan Krowns.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
With every opportunity of growth and expansion there will be some challenges. One of my main challenges has been obtaining the necessary billing credentials from insurance companies. The other challenge is marketing and promotion of services provided by Artisan Krowns.
