Today we’d like to introduce you to Yesenia Carrasquillo
Hi Yesenia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Thank you for giving me a second opportunity to be interviewed by Orlando Voyager, since my last interview I have been working on launching my own collection of beauty products. Braided By Jessy Collection launches on March 8, 2025. Introducing my first two products, Braid Juice & Hydrating Spray. I’ve been working on perfecting my entire collection since our very first launch March 2023 and I am so excited for this relaunch and for everyone to enjoy these amazing products. The Braid Juice Oil is an all natural hair oil that can be used to keep your scalp nourished while wearing your protective style. Braid Juice comes with a dropper that is helpful to reach those hard to reach areas while wearing your protective style, The second product of the collection is our Hydrating Spray, this product is used to promote moisture to the scalp and aid with dry scalp that causes itching while wearing your protective style. Both products together works magic .
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to success has not been easy. I’m a firm believer that when you work hard and are consistent there are great rewards that follow. Many late nights, early mornings, time away from my family I’ve been through all of it. It takes a village and I can definitely say that everyone in my village has contributed to my success.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am an entrepreneur that started my journey as a hair braider. I currently still service clients and host braid classes for women and beauty professional that will like to expand their services or perfect their braiding skills. I have a braid tour called Braided By Jessy University that I host every year, where I travel to different cities and states to host Braid Classes. In addition to launching Braided By Jessy Collection In March I am also working on building The Braid Lounge, a location where women can come get all included braid services, feel comfortable and get impeccable customer service in a luxury environment. I have so many other projects in store for 2025 and I can’t wait for all of my girls to experience them.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I am a perfect example of a risk taker. I’ve risked it all to be where I’m at today. I miss out on almost everything because I’m always busy. Everyday I bet it all on a vision only I can see and understand. At times your even gonna feel a little crazy but your not your believing in yourself and there’s no great reward without a big risk and even when u risk it all and don’t win get back up, go back to the drawing board and come back with a bigger plan.
