Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started off as a graphic designer, specializing in medical graphic design. For years I worked for a medical research company making all marketing materials and social media posts. It was a partner company to my dad’s family physician office. I really enjoyed getting to work with my dad from time to time but I really wanted to work with him full time. I noticed a lot of our patients were looking for aesthetic services, and so he and I created this company with the help of the three other physicians at the office to fill a gap in the market. I went back to school and became an esthetician and laser technician. We opened our aesthetic office initially to just our current patients. It was a big success and now we see new patients as well. It is rewarding getting to use my art skills to help people achieve the look they want while getting to work with my dad all day. It’s special that I get to spend so much time with my dad and make so many people happy through my services. I love that so many of the patients I see have started putting themselves first and tell me how much their treatments mean to them and what a big difference they make in their confidence.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Opening an aesthetic business at this time has come with it’s challenges. Every month we see another open and multiple more close. It’s taken a lot of hard work to create the business we have and earn trust within the community.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Aesthetic Physicians of Oviedo?
Aesthetic Physicians of Oviedo was created by four family physicians and an esthetician. Our family physicians have been treating patients since 1997 and recently expanded to aesthetic services. We had many patients asking us for trusted places to go for aesthetic services over the years but couldn’t always find the right place. We opened up Aesthetic Physicians of Oviedo so we could provide safe, physician run, aesthetic services. Too often we hear about unsafe places on the news that risk patients health to cut costs. We wanted to provide a place that has strict physician oversight so patients would be safe and know they are getting good services. One of the biggest differences between us and other places is that this is just a small part of our business. It’s one room out of our doctors office. It’s a small operation so when you visit us you get our full attention and don’t have to worry about the pressures of upselling that come with a large corporation. All of our services are backed by clinical research. Our services like hair restoration are clinically proven to help. We are proud to offer services that are safe and proven to be effective.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
At Aesthetic Physicians of Oviedo you will most likely speak to one of two people, either Zoe or Dr.Bradley Block. We’re a father and daughter team that has been working around the clock to create this vision. Behind the scenes, we are always working on the next big idea, looking for ways to improve or learning more. The two of us have created everything from the paperwork, decorated the room, created the website from scratch, made our own branding guide, make marketing tools, film for social media and more. Every day we work on this business no matter if it’s a day off. It’s been a real labor of love. It could not have been possible without our amazing office manager Thea who helps with anything and everything. She has also been there from day one. The other three physicians, Dr.Nation, Dr.Chase, and Dr.Smolen are a large part of keeping the business running too. Together we keep our small business growing.
