Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Williams.
Hi Alex, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always loved photography and taking pictures of either my friends or myself. But whenever someone took a picture of me, I never felt like it was perfect. But I would take a picture of someone else and it was exactly how it should be. When I graduated from UCF, I bought my first DSLR camera and took my best friend’s graduation pictures. Ever since then, I started taking pictures for friends or senior pictures for money. In 2019 I decided to quit my full-time job and pressure my passion and start my own business as a wedding photographer.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No it hasn’t. One of the biggest struggles was COVID. No one was allowed to do anything and I wasn’t able to work on my portfolio and networking. I was extremely worried but it worked out.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Portrait and Wedding photographer. I like to express my work as editorial and moody. I always think about my pictures and whether or not they would be featured in vogue magazine. I love getting those candid pictures or my couples to express their true love and not just a posed picture.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
That I used to be a wedding planner before I was a wedding photographer.
