Today we’d like to introduce you to Joy Dawson.

Hi Joy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Joyfully Cleaned was birthed as a side job that grew into something so much more. I own another company and the original intention was to have this for a couple of days a week. I had cleaned in the past with an aunt during my college years and when I went home to visit. I had the experience and I wanted to provide a service that was different than my competitors. Through word of mouth and excellent service, we provide a service/detail that goes unmatched. We grew from two houses and minimal resources to now over 200 properties. Today, we have staff that are diligent and detailed in providing exceptional service while using quality products.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing that is worth fighting for doesn’t come as an easy road. In any great business, comes adversity. Of course, there are struggles. Some of them have included, but not limited to, product availability, scheduling conflicts, as well as staffing. Staffing has been the largest struggle and usually is present within the service industry. The greatest thing is that through the variations of staffing it has provided the ability to adapt to constant changes. Thankfully, I come from a long line of entrepreneurs and have wisdom that are able to assist in the obstacles that arise.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Joyfully Cleaned is a full-service cleaning company that provides service to both residential and commercial clients. We specialize in deep cleanings, post-construction, move-in/move-out, and business clients. We also have gained clients through routine service. We are known for exceptional customer service, unmatched detail, and safe products. I am most proud of the growth within the company. From start to finish, the way our business is structured, we are set apart from our competitors by the way we conduct our follow-up, estimates, cleaning, and staff which upholds the image of the company.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Absolutely! Covid-19 has provided the ability to be creative. The pandemic has shifted client’s needs, budgets, and overall scheduling of the company. We have gained clients, we have lost clients, and we have expanded services. Covid-19 has also put an a necessary awareness on the cleanliness of one’s home and business. Covid-19 has also created new opportunities that may not have been present if it didn’t occur. The overall lesson learned that I had to be flexible and adapt to what was in store.
