Hi Adriana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself:
My name is Adriana Betancourt, and I have a bachelor’s degree in Pre-School Education, and I am the owner of HAPPY MOUSE LLC. Since my early years, I always knew I wanted to work with children. As of today, I have 12 years of experience working in the field.
For my graduate thesis, I created a handbook about innovating techniques to develop gross motor skills in children from 0 to 3 years old, and putting Happy Mouse LLC together was my next goal. Through the many years of experience, I am most proud of this business because it was brought up from the ground on my own.
It has always been a dream of mine and the results have given me great gratification. My discipline and drive to always keep improving set me apart from others. I am constantly looking for ways to improve my business and learn more about my career field.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overall, it has been a smooth process, however, there have been some struggles. When first learning about the logistics of forming a company in this country, it was a bit challenging to learn all the information and to make sure everything was being done correctly.
There are lots of steps necessary to create a successful company and this process led to a few bumps on the road. Additionally, due to the pandemic, like many other small businesses, I faced hardships when it came to how quickly certain processes were being completed.
Regardless, we overcame these hardships and they helped us create a strong foundation.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Happy Mouse LLC. was born from the idea of creating a safe and fun space for children until the age of 5, in which while playing, they could keep developing their fine and gross motor skills, as well as reinforcing their social-emotional intelligence, Kids Party Rental. Happy Mouse is a safe play zone created specifically for the smaller hands at home.
The soft play, ball pit, and bounce houses bring fun to your celebration. We are able to personalize your celebration to your liking in order to make it as unique and special as possible. Because of this, I have witnessed children from ages 1-2 being able to enjoy and use amenities the same as the older children while still being safe. It has been a rewarding experience to know clients are happy with the way their celebrations turn out and feel that the products were up to par.
I began by researching different products and distributors which would best fit what I envisioned for my brand. When I chose which products I wanted, I began creating my brand and reaching out to customers. The startup process was moving quickly, which made it a stress-free and positive start to the company. I have seen great improvement and have learned a lot; however, I am anticipating more growth for my company in the future.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I am originally from Venezuela, and I have been living in Orlando for the past 7 years. It has been a challenge to start from scratch. I feel grateful to be in a community in which I feel like I can keep growing in my career.
I have a 9-year-old daughter who is my greatest motivation to succeed in what I do. I would love for her to help me and take over this business in the future.
