Hi Alexandria, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
In 2019, I was furloughed from my dream job as a performer at Walt Disney World due to COVID-19. I was finishing my undergraduate degree at UCF and had a little extra time on my hands since I wasn’t working. I wanted to offer something that wasn’t typically offered. I had done a few charcuterie boards in the past and saw there was a Facebook page for the furloughed cast member community and their small businesses. I decided to post some pictures about my Charcuterie, and it blew up! Before I knew it, I had to create a legal business, rent a commercial kitchen, and was delivering to the Disney resorts all week!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been many obstacles, one of them being deciding to commit 100% to this and invest in custom supplies, making sure we had all the right licenses and requirements, and balancing being back at Disney present day!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I make and deliver charcuterie boards to the Orlando area, mostly Disney resorts. We specialize in themes, accommodating, dietary restrictions, and making each charcuterie box. Perfect for our customers needs and liking we work a lot with travel agents, sending gifts to the resorts for their clients to welcome them to Disney.
What makes you happy?
I love the positive feedback and how little details that I put into their board really make their experience different! I love creating! I love making each board custom to the occasion and adding something special for the customer’s vacation. I am most proud of how far the business has come starting it with nothing and having the opportunity to deliver numerous boards every day.
